How bloody should a bloody show be?

Sorry sorry sorry for TMI.

I'm 40 + 3 and just had what I presume was a bloody show but I'm worried it was a bit much blood. Was very bright red although was mucousy. All sort of at once I'm not bleeding now. I had had it described to me as pinky - should I be worried do you think?

The start of mine was browny but then it turned pretty much like bright red mucus. But everyones different and if you are worried you should call labour suite...ive had 3 kiddies and even on 3rd after knowing my other 2 shows was extremely bloody I still rang them and asked to be seen just to be sure. Good luck :D xx

Mine was bright red and mucousy too, enough to fill a tissue but then had no more, it was accompanied by twinges 20 mins apart though.

Definitely call the hospital though, mine asked me to go and be checked just in case and it was indeed the start, dd was born the following day.

Thanks. I'm now having crampy pains in my back and top of legs every 20 minutes so I think this might be the start of something!

I'll call the hospital if it ramps up, hoping I might get through the night before active labour.

Ooo good luck. Definately sounds like the start

I had a bloody red showat 4pm Sat, no other signs at that time, DS was born at 2.29am later that evening. Good luck!

Good luck!

Mine was bright red, although it weirdly did come out until I was about 8cm - very much in the middle of labour. Sounds like things are moving!

Good luck! My bloody show was much bigger than i was expecting, enough to flood a maxi pad. I went straight to hospital and found I was 8cm already!

Good luck OP. Hope all is well.
