Pregnant and feel rotten - anyone else?

I'm only 5w5d but feel terrible. I'm exhausted but can't sleep, have a rotten cold that won't go away and hurts my throat like never before, ache everywhere etc. And I'm in a rotten mood all the time.

I'm so annoyed. I thought I'd feel all glowy! Just feel like a mess.

Anyone else? Please tell me it's not just me.

I'm 5w5d too! And feeling exactly the same. Been cramping constantly, feeling nauseous, exhausted, sluggish and heavy and so unmotivated to get anything done! Feeling generally crappy. And unfortunately I know the worst is yet to come! It'll all be worth it though Grin

Hi vintage! Wow! Great to come across someone with the same time frame :)

Thank god for that. I think the fact I know morning sickness hasn't even started yet is getting me down. It's going to get worse and I already feel like death!

You won't necessarily get morning sickness, so there is hope! Mine seems to be starting gradually, only been sick once but the rest of the time it almost feels like intense motion/car sickness. Today's the first day where I haven't been able to stomach much food. I kind of asked for it since I didn't feel 'pregnant enough'!

MistressKatherine · 21/10/2014 20:24

Haha! That's what I was thinking! Be careful what we wish for eh. I'm so naive. I didn't realise I'd feel like I had the flu. Just thought I would throw up and try to get on with it (yeah right). And I'm always worse in the evenings. I get home to do exercise and end up collapsed on the sofa.

Haha exactly. To be fair, I'd rather have these symptoms to reassure me I'm pregnant than no signs at all!! I'll work out for an hour in the morning and that's me done for the rest of the day!! I'm falling asleep on the sofa at 5pm! Have you booked your doctors or midwife appointment yet?

Melodygrace · 21/10/2014 20:32

I'm 5 weeks + not sure exactly. Feel so rough. I'm snappy and tired i keep breaking down over stupid things feel like I can't cope with anything. Keep crying over nothing. This is not me at all. Hormones. I'm hoping they settle down soon. I feel guilty for moaning I know so many women who are desperate to be pregnant.

stubbornstains · 21/10/2014 20:32

Oh yes! I'm 8 weeks on Thursday- I don't get morning sickness, although feel nauseous, but have no energy at all Exhausted, weak, dizzy....I'm self employed and am letting work slide, am finding it really tough being around my hyper-energetic 4 year old, am really bored because I'm hardly seeing any friends at the moment, because I'm too tired.....Effectively, my life is unravelling in the way that it would if I was actually ill for 2 months....total bollocks Sad

(I'm writing this from bed, obvs!)

VintageCherry26 · 21/10/2014 20:39

Melodygrace, I'm feeling those hormones too! Super sensitive anyway, but the other day I got upset because the only meal a restaurant ran out of was the only thing I could stomach! And the next day I broke down over nothing and was crying my eyes out on DPs shoulder. It's getting so irrational.

MistressKatherine · 21/10/2014 21:02

We're all as bad as each other! I nearly burst into tears tonight at the mere sight of my husband (in a I'm so glad to see you sort of way).

Vintage I saw the doctor on Friday. Apparently I won't see anyone else now til I have my scan at 13 weeks. Is this usual? Have you been yet?

I haven't seen anyone yet, I phoned the local midwife department since the website said I can book direct, but they then told me to go through my doctors. I only recently moved so I need to sign up to a GP tomorrow but I'm not sure whether it's worth me booking an appointment or just phoning to see what my next move should be! I'm really nervous going until at least 12 weeks without seeing a midwife! I kind of need reassurance that everything's fine and that I'm doing okay. Hopefully time flies!!

stubbornstains · 21/10/2014 21:18

Round our way booking in appts. with the midwife are at about 10 weeks. I don't know if you can contact them directly, but I'm due to see my GP tomorrow to get the ball rolling- I want to go through her, because over the last few months I've been seeing her for tests to investigate why I wasn't conceiving, then to get a referral to the fertility clinic- so I want to see her face when I tell her!

VintageCherry26 · 21/10/2014 21:19

Aww! That's going to be amazing telling her the good news stubborn :)

stubbornstains · 21/10/2014 21:29

Cheers cherry! Yes, the letter from the fertility clinic plopped onto my mat several hours after I got my BFP!

(must remember to be grateful for my miserable, shitty state...Wink)

VintageCherry26 · 21/10/2014 21:34

Wonderful! That must have been thee best feeling in the world! :)
