Who's in pregnancy/ period limbo?

Hi all, me and my husband started TTC this month (fully aware it could take months for anything to happen). I've always had regular periods. This month period came 09/09. I THINK I ovulated around 28th (according to the stick things) although we did the deed again on 5th October which is when I had the Egg white stuff and thought I could feel the ovulation cramping.

It is now Day 37 and no period and negative pregnancy test. Can someone who knows more about this than me advise? I've gone to the doctor but they say I'm prob obsessing too much, which has delayed period. This might be the case but not comforting - and should I carry on doing the deed in the mean time??

I HATE BEING IN LIMBO!!!!

Hi Rachel, I went to the doctor and (helpfully) advice is just to wait. They just tell you random long cycles are normal... I was hoping for a blood test to know either way. I'm now on CD38 and all negative tests so far.
I'm turning into a testing monster!

Have a look for latest info on the sensitivity of pregnancy tests. When I took mine the best was superdrug own standard test. Given how late you are, that should give you an accurate reading with first morning pee.

Hi June, I've tried loads of brands - all negative. I'm not expecting to be a BFP at all, it's just weird how late I am... I was expecting to be able to crack on with TTC#2!

I think I will try a superdrug brand when I teat again. Will wait for 7 days late an teat again if nothing before.
Is anybody else finding the waiting so hard an causing anxiety?

KatieLola · 17/10/2014 09:22

yes! me! got some spotting today - now in the new anxiety phase of working out if this is Implantation or not. Either way, hopefully it'll be resolved soon...!

I am 12 weeks ?one now but i was trying for 15 months. The wait is unbearable and you start to imagine your having symptoms. I had irregular periods so always tested about 30 days since i started my period. When i finally cracked it i had almost given up and had no signs what so ever. Tested positive very faint line 4 weeks gone.

It's awful being in limbo - I was in a similar situation and didn't know how long my cycle was as had only one period since a mmc in the summer. I sort of assumed it would go back to 28 days so tested and got negative. Left it a week to day 35 and got a very faint positive, now getting darker ones. I like the zoombaby super sensitive ones that you get online. Sensitive to 10mg/ml of Hcg or whatever it is compared to 20 or 25 for most others. They're also cheap but they are the paper ones you have to dip in your wee, you can't do it mid stream. Good luck!!

Hi Everyone, this is my first post on here so apologies if this isn't the right thread for this- am still reading all the different subjects! My partner and i are trying for our first baby, and I'm now 10 days late for my period. I only did the calculations on Wednesday as I was trying not to get stressed about it, and after testing with a kit that went positive on Wednesday night (which I later realised was out of date) I then tested again yesterday with Clear Blue digital and today with a Sainsbury's stick- both of which came back negative. I'm started to get really freaked out why this has happened- the only conclusions i can draw are not good, but I don't understand why I would test positive then negative. Has any one experienced this? I've previously miscarried at 6 weeks and am trying not to get paranoid- I'm doing a final test first thing in the morning. Anyone got any ideas they can offer?

Thanks!!!

Zoë

Hi all. When I first started testing on the first day of my missed period, I got a very very faint positive on a test that I'd left too long (about a couple of hours - wasn't sure if it was an evaporation line). Then on subsequent tests I got negative results on all except the first morning wee, which also gave a very very VERY faint positive. It took another couple of weeks before getting clear positives. I know the advice is to keep testing every 2/3 days until either you get a positive or your period starts. Unfortunately, it's all a bit of waiting game, which can be very difficult. Good luck!
