I am 34 weeks today and I keep delaying the vaccine.I had 2 weeks ago flue vaccine and I had a bad experience. Baby reduced movements for 3 days, admitted to hospital and babies heart was very erratic. Ended up everything ok but.....
Now I am scared of whooping cough vac.Did you have it? How was your experience? Thank you. Flowers

I had it at 28 weeks, I had an achey arm for a few days but that was it, the baby was fine.

vallinnapod · 14/10/2014 10:58

Had mine yesterday at 28 weeks (along with flu in the other arm). Apart from the massively achy WC arm so far nothing out of the ordinary with movements. I stress that as I have an anterior placenta and have been in for monitoring for reduced movements once already.

Yes I had it, no side effects at all.

I had mine at 33 weeks, no problems.
I'm the opposite to you, been putting off having the flu jab rather than the whooping cough as I don't want any side effects!

WhatWouldCaitlinDo · 14/10/2014 11:21

I had both the flu and whooping cough vaccines yesterday - I am 33 weeks. All fine, both arms are a bit achy but baby seems fine. We had the usual 3am womb-party last night, and lots of wriggles again today.

happypotamus · 14/10/2014 12:15

I had the whooping cough vaccine at about 30 weeks. No side effects except sore arm for a few days.
I had flu vaccine last week at 36 weeks. No side effects at all, not even a sore arm. I get the flu jab every year at work and do usually end up with an aching arm but was ok this year.

kitkat321 · 14/10/2014 12:21

Had mine at 31 weeks - sore arm and slight swelling but no other issues.

Going to get the flu jab shortly - I also get it every year and never had any side affects.

FruitBadger · 14/10/2014 14:45

Had both at 31 weeks, one in each arm. Had heavy, achy arms for 1-2 days but no other side effects and the arms weren't achy enough to stop me doing / lifting anything. I did whinge to DH anyway and got no sympathy Smile

stargirl1701 · 14/10/2014 14:46

Yes. I've had it twice now. Pg with DD1 in 2012 and DD2 this year. Sore arm/redness and babies fine.

Kickassandlollipops · 14/10/2014 15:03

I had the whooping cough vaccine but refused the flu , no side affects apart from a aching arm .

HulaHoopsInTheBath · 14/10/2014 15:37

I just had mine 2 hours ago, baby still kicking away a good'un. Arm a tad sore mind, but thats all.

lupo5 · 14/10/2014 15:38

I had my whopping cough vaccine around 30 weeks, I had quite a sore arm for a day or two afterwards. I'll be honest and say I felt a little bit under the weather for a day or two, slept most of the next day but I tend to react to most vaccines like that so it was probably more me being a drama queen than the actual vaccine! Funnily enough, I got the flu vaccine on Saturday and this is the first time I've had no reaction at all to it.

wigfieldrocks · 14/10/2014 21:02

I had my whooping cough jab last week at 30 weeks. The next day I felt a bit under the weather, very tired and have had a sore arm but it didn't last long. No issues with baby though, usual amount of movements etc.
