This morning, I went for a routine scan as part of a research study we're doing for our hospital and had the amazing experience of seeing our baby's face! It's a little squished as I'm nearly 36 weeks but it was amazing nonetheless - she has my chubby cheeks and her daddy's chin dimple and is currently just shy of 5lbs so estimated to be about 6.5lbs at birth ( although I'm taking this with a pound either way given how unaccurate they can be).

I don't think I'd pay for a 4D scan, but seeing her hiccup and hide her face behind her hands was incredibly, especially as I could see how much she's grown and developed between my 20 week scan and now.

So here she is, little miss Poppy, 35+3 and utterly lovely Smile

How wonderful. I would have loved to see something like this with mine! Hope the last bit of your pregnancy and the birth all go smoothly :)

I have never seen a baby's face in a scan photo (my own or anyone else's). That is such an amazing thing to have... Congratulations, btw!

Ah, how cute! (Took me a while to see where the face was though!)

ladyflower23 · 13/10/2014 21:53

That is amazing!! What a lovely thing for you to have and for her to see when she gets older. Congratulations x

Aww lovely. I adore all my 4D scans. Especially one of the scans where my twins were both sucking their thumb on the same hand :)

Best time for 4D scans is around 29-32 weeks as they're small enough to get a good face shot with detail :)

Ruth10 · 14/10/2014 11:24

Oh wow! That really makes me want to have a 4d scan! You must be so excited about her arrival now :)

Badvoc123 · 14/10/2014 11:27

Oooooohhhhhh!
Lovely!
:)

spiderlight · 14/10/2014 11:30

Amazing!! Isn't she gorgeous?

middlings · 14/10/2014 11:32

That is just lovely.

I was part of a research study and my hospital and had the same pic of DD1 at 20 weeks! They didn't tell me they were going to do it, her face just popped up on the screen and I screamed! It was an amazing moment.

Hope Poppy arrives in a civilised fashion and at the appointed time - enjoy the snuggles when they come.

So cute!!! We got a 4d scan and got very clear pictures of our bubs at about 24 weeks - she has my nose -poor girl!

We also saw yawns and thumb sucking - it makes it seem more real now having seen her face!!
