Nightly "signs of labour" that amount to nothing

Im pg with DC2 and had none of this with DD Grin

Every night for at least the past ten, I have been plagued with stomach tightenings, cramping pains in my uterus and tingly aches running up.and down my thighs. Add in lower back aches and Im spending half the night thinking "is this it?!"

Am 38 weeks tomorrow so it will happen sometime soon, but Im frustrated by all this coming and going.

I have no babysitter for dd this weekend (Mum is away but will be back Sunday evening), so am fretting about that too, even though if I do go into labour we will just have to manage, but its an added concern when it would just be quite nice if mt body could just relax until the Big day.

I get daily tightenings too - stomach rock hard like a basketball for most of every evening. I am wondering if it will all.make for a smoother, swifter birth, but I really think that is wishful thinking!

Hi OP, im nearly 37 weeks with DS2 and am experiencing what you are. The rock hard stomach all evening makes for a very uncomfortable evening indeed.

I wish you a smooth and easy birth Smile

I had this for weeks with ds2&3 ds2 came at 40+4 and ds3 at 38wks. Ds1 I had none of it. I just kept thinking it is all doing something to keep me sane lol. Hope it doesnt go on too much longer xx

Same here... 40+12 today. Every night I think I'll get woken by full on pain at some point in the night, but nothing.

Frustrating isn't it!

CrackedNipplesSuchFun · 10/10/2014 11:29

Is this your first DC ohthegoats?

Like you OP and mumxof3x, I cant recall having this with my first.

DinoSnores · 10/10/2014 11:36

I think I might be ohthegoats's twin. I have been doing this for weeks and am 40+12 now with DC4. I am exhausted as it even wakes me sometimes.

Induction is booked for tomorrow so just hoping that things aren't further delayed.

Thanks everyone, grrrr to hear that it could still mean going two weeks over.

Goats - 40+12 is incomprehensable! You trooper!

OP- wow I could have written this post. I'm also 38 weeks tomorrow and last couple nights are horrible. Cramps, rock hard bump. Plus when baby moves it feels like she almost out already and I just lay in bed kind of thinking "ok with the next move the baby is doing the water will break" that intense it is. And when I get up to go to the loo I can barely walk from all the tightness and stomach pain. And all day I fell like I got hit by something during the night and now bruised up Smile..

I just want this baby out. Worse part for me is that I have a 13 month old son who can't walk on his own, and with DH at work I have to carry him down the stairs (entire level, as bedrooms are upstairs and living room, kitchen and play area are on main level)
