Sharp pains in vagina?

I'm 31 weeks pregnant and for the last few weeks I've been getting sharp stabbing knife-like pains in my vagina, although I'm not entirely sure where the pain is, it could be urethra or thereabouts. It's not continuous and not at any particular time of day/activity but it stops me in my tracks and makes me cry out. I definitely didn't have this with my first pregnancy. The docs have ruled out a urine infection.

The pains were more frequent these last few days and I started bleeding last night and was brought onto hospital. The bleeding has stopped and the docs etc have no idea what the pain is but having spent the day lying down I'm only getting the pain when baby moves. Does anyone have any ideas?

I should add that I have a Cervical stitch, they don't want to do a Cervical scan though.

Do you think baby could be trapping a nerve?

Sorry no idea other than that.

Hi,

I've had these pains in both pregnancies-more this one as baby is breech and feels like he/she is literally trying to kick out of my cervix! I have spoken to friends who have also had them.
My mw suggested when baby was head down it may be cause baby is back to back and kicking nerves. I never had any bleeding though x x

Your both right, it could be a trapped nerve or baby kicking something he shouldn't be Shock

It's great to know that I'm not the only one who gets this though, after a miscarriage last year I'm so paranoid about everything, even though I already have a dd.

Thanks Smile

I used to get this a lot when pregnant. I was told it was entirely normal and common. Something to do with cervix changing? Like being stabbed with a knitting needle and would stop me in my tracks and make me gasp.
