How long before labour did you get your show?

Every time I say 'show' I want to do jazz hands and go "dah dah" - anyone else??! Anyways...

I'm 36+2 with DC2. I've been convinced for a no. of weeks that they will arrive early due to the size of my bump. Had constant period like pains for 2 days late last week as well as lower back ache, and then increased discharge for last two days. Just been to loo and there is a faint bit of blood in it, which is the first I've seen since very early pregnancy...but I DTD last night (rare occurrence of late), so not sure if that may have caused it. With DC1 the show was just hours before serious contractions, so going to keep a close eye on it.

I have heard that it can sometimes be days, so would be interesting to hear your experiences. Thanks

With DS I didn't noticeably have one.

With DD I think it was about 10 days or so before.

DS 1 didn't notice
DS 2 4-6 hours before birth

Mild contractions started 3 hours after the mucous plug came out.

Not until I was in hospital and about 8cms dilated... Approx 40 hours after first contraction!

Thanks for replies - blimey, sounds like a lot of variety...from nothing to 10 days before!

Still not 100% sure it is it - I have twinges however that could be a mind thing bringing them on as I think I am. A few trips to the loo this morning checking I think!

Thanks again
