Not sure why I'm posting really...looking for stories of positive outcomes I suppose!
I've been on Bp meds for slightly raised Bp since week 22ish. The dosage was raised slightly last week due to Bp rising again. Yesterday felt exhausted and had a persistent headache. Got Bp checked in pharmacy ( silly in hindsight) and it was through the roof.
Since then I've been in a whirlwind! I feel like my hasty knee jerk reaction may have to similar in the hospital! Ob was off so I was told to go straight to l&d. Bp is back to normal, ctg looks good, but slight protein in urine.
I was admitted overnight and given steroids for babies lungs ( just in case) . Just had Bp taken first thing this morning and it is now toooooi low! I am super thirsty too! Waiting for ob to shed some light about the next steps but that could be hours away. And on top of it all, I'm being observed by my bosses in classroom observations some time in the next three days starting tomorrow .... I feel like I'm not up to all of this!!Confused

Hi Pia I had the same when I was expected dd. was admitted to hospital twice with high Bp and protein in water which never became anything more than that but they wanted to monitor me so was in for a couple of days both times.
I wouldn't worry about work. Have you got any sleep at all tonight?
You need to rest.
But main thing was my beautiful dd arrived the day before her due date absolutely perfect and I'm sure that will be the case for you.
Do you know what you're having?

Hi wishful! Really? Nothing came of it? That's really encouraging ... I hope the same happens with me and that it's just a blip. Can't wait to see my little boy, just not yet!
My ob just came in and scoffed at me when I asked if I could have a day or two off work . The health authority will not allow it , as you don't have high Bp right now. I'm so stressed out I was crying ( so embarrassing) and dh wasn't here yet so it was just me feeling like a twat for daring to ask!
Am I being cynical for not being happy about bring charged for an overnight stay ( because it makes them money) but not being given a day or two leave for my mental well being? ( what money would they earn with that ? None! So why bother!!) I'm not in the uk btw ... I don't take these sick days lightly as I will only be entitled to 45 days maternity leave. Sorry I know I'm ranting now ShockHmmConfused

:( that sounds awful. But make sure if you're in work you tell someone that you've been unwell.
I think they were expecting me to have pre-eclampsia as my dsis and aunt had both had it but it never developed into that for me and I went to full term.
Will you start your mat leave beforehand or work until your due?
Whereabouts are you OP if you don't mind me being nosey?

piazilla · 06/10/2014 09:21

Yeah I suppose that they don't want ti take the risk ... That's the trouble with pre eclampsia!
I'm in the Arabian gulf ... 45 days maternity leave only , so I can't really go out early unfortunately . I feel so underprepared to be facing these kinds of issues ... Like I was totally blind going into it!

Hopefully the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly now and I hope your work looked after you today :)
