Been looking for some nice colourful curtains that are also blackout but really struggling. We don't know if girl or boy at this stage. Any ideas? Have searched most sites I know, need inspiration

You could get any curtains you like and hang these liners on the inside of them www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B002YXLN2A/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?qid=1412539770&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX110_SY165 this is what I have in the children's room. Hth

A lot of places that make curtains will put blackout lining in them. Places like John Lewis or independent curtain makers. TBH, it's not full black out though. You'd probably be better off with any curtain you like and a separate blackout layer.

Not that blackout has made a blind bit of difference to any of my three though. Hmm

We bought a cheap black out roller blind from homebase, and then made some nice curtains with normal curtain lining.

I find a blackout blind better, just because the curtains we have with blackout lining don't seem to sit very nicely. So i usually prefer to go for a blind with a nice pair of curtains. I usually go to Dunelm for them. Can be pricey though.

We got the jungle brights curtains from Next, love the colours but not convinced they will be as effective as 'blackout' suggests...!

I have a black out roller blind from Argos then normal eyelet curtains with special eyeleted blackout "liners" from dunelm that just sit behind the normal curtain.

I find I need both the blackout blind and blackout curtains because the blind allows light around it at the sides/bottom and the curtains let light around the top and bottom. Combined the light problem is eliminated. I like it really dark to sleep and so does my son.

I do same - black out blind (I got local company to fit it at same time as some others I needed doing in house) and black out curtains in a green stripe I got from eBay before baby was born and I added pink tie backs and blind when baby was born and I'd found out sex.
