Under consultant care and I don't know why?

Hiya
I don't know if everyone is or if this is just for people with issues during pregnancy. If so then I don't know why I am seeing a consultant.

So I get calls today and call back and its from someone at the hospital. She says to me that I was supposed to see a consultant after my 20 week scan but they forgot to book me in.

I am 22 weeks and had my scan 2 weeks ago. So they booked me in for a consultant appointment straight after my midwife appointment.

So I get off the phone and have no experience with pregnancy think its normal until googling it. I don't know why I am seeing one?

I have no known health issues. I did tell them I suffer from migraines occasionally and that in the past I have low iron, it was low-normal. Also on my blood test results it identified I had low iron but it was in the low normal range.

I was weighed first at 14 weeks and was at 27 in my BMI. Before I got pregnant I was at 24. I am still the same weight that I was at 14 weeks. I know its over weight but it is not extremely or even considerably over weight so I don't think its because of that. my mw told me just to eat healthy and try not to go over 30.

I am 18 which I know is young but not really young and young as some mums these days.

Any ideas??

Regarding findings at the scan. I was TOLD that there was no issues with the baby and everything was fine. I was measuring on the 90th percentile for growth measurements.

I saw a consultant after my scan and again at 41 weeks (they made the appointments for that at the scan one and with the pregnancy where I was no longer pregnant at 41 weeks it was just cancelled.

So I think it's just routine, unless I was part of some high risk group and the didn't mention it in 2 pregnancies anyway.

It's probably just your age. Your bmi is fine, it won't be that

I was put under consultant care when they found my baby was in the 95th percentile & consistently measuring 2 weeks ahead - could it be that?
I am now 37 weeks, had growth scan yester, baby still growing quite big but the consultant was happy to sign me back to midwife led care after I asked.

I'd say most likely that baby is on 90th centile. They'll probably just want to keep an eye on size and check you don't develop gestational diabetes.
