Around 26 weeks but I do have a low lying placenta xx

MrsCK · 14/09/2014 21:39

This morning! I'm 20+3

FruitBadger · 14/09/2014 21:40

I first felt movement at 20+1, DH felt it about 3 weeks later

NovemberRainbow · 14/09/2014 21:40

Around 20 weeks, but I started to feel movements from 16 weeks.

ohjesus · 14/09/2014 21:41

Im 24 weeks, i first felt the baby move at around 18-19 weeks. Dh felt him move about 3 or 4 weeks ago. So 20 or 21 weeks.

pippinleaf · 14/09/2014 21:47

I felt the baby move from 16 weeks and my husband felt it two days ago just before 20 weeks.

silverfishlondon · 14/09/2014 22:00

I felt movements at 19 weeks and husband felt it a week later. I was surprised but as soon as he put his hand there it did a massive kick strait away! Im now 22 and can regularly SEE the kicks (and I apparently have anterior placenta which is supposed to cushion movements).

squizita · 14/09/2014 22:08

Couldn't see or feel anything externally until about 25-6 weeks (contrary to what you read on the web babycentre forums especially this is pretty much the norm, nothing to worry about/late) and then DH could feel it if he rubbed my tummy. In fact the baby sensed his hands as they're warmer than mine and his voice and he was quite useful if I was worried about movement as he woke her up!

squizita · 14/09/2014 22:11

...and I have a high, posterior placenta. Honestly the web does give a slight idea that everyone can see/feel kicks quite early (and otherwise it must be because of placenta) but in my case this fuelled completely needless anxiety. Feeling/seeing from the outside often doesn't happen until towards the 3rd trimester.

woodwaj · 14/09/2014 22:11

My movements arent that often and it seems like it stops whenever he puts his hand there!! Im hoping it will be soon! It doesn't seem like its much of a wait really for you all! I read today that movement is more noticeable when your partner puts his head there rather than his hand!

I did read a lot that the partner might not feel it till tri 3 which i was surprised about!

Around 17 or 19 weeks I think. DH felt the baby move before me - I was sleeping! But he did record it for me Grin

countthekicks.org.uk/mums/your-babys-movements/babys-movements-week-by-week/

This is a very respected timeline by the charity which advocated monitoring kicks. I always share it because the only thing that worries me with forums is people tend to post if they feel things early but not if average (I suppose that is natural) ... which can lead to a skewed idea of when things 'should' happen and worry for some.
Unfortunately I've also seen downright panic triggering nonsense like encouraging ringing a midwife for 'reduced movement' at 18 weeks (when many haven't felt movement yet!!) or someone swearing they felt their 2nd at 6 weeks (it doesn't have limbs yet then).

As you can see they only mention noticing from the outside at 29 weeks+, so that would probably be when most people feel it by - many earlier but certainly not a problem if it doesn't happen till then.

MultipleMama · 14/09/2014 22:48

Squiz - This is baby #7, so luckily I know what to look for but the website is a good thing to knowledge up on :). Right now, I'm just enjoying the very strong kicks and movements :) I try not to worry about kick counting until 28+ :)

JaffyCakey · 15/09/2014 04:41

With my first baby i started feeling him at 18 weeks and my partner felt him kicking at 24 weeks. With this baby i felt her at 16 weeks and dp felt her at 20 weeks :)

tomanyanimals · 15/09/2014 07:46

Everyone else felt baby around 18weeks he couldn't feel it till I was 22 weeks as he use to be a chef and has asbestos hands as he calls it which was sad as he got abit upset

woodwaj · 15/09/2014 09:37

BilboTheAlmighty · 15/09/2014 12:30

21 weeks but only in some areas! I'm 23+3 now.

MultipleMama · 15/09/2014 15:07

My kids have luckily been good sleepers and after the first 2, I learnt that I needed no more than 4 hours to function fully Wink

woodwaj · 15/09/2014 15:24

Haha you are braver than me!!!

cheshirem2b · 15/09/2014 15:33

it was around 21 weeks when baby gave me a good kick when I was in the bath that I called DH up to see and he felt and saw baby move. I think the novelty has worn off for him now (24+4). My mum saw baby move last weekend as well through my clothes when we were out for dinner so I guess the kicks must be getting stronger!
Everyone is different though so don't worry if he can't feel it yet.

HSMMaCM · 15/09/2014 15:33

DH never felt dd move, but did manage to get the chance to see the odd foot sticking out. She hardly moved at all and was a real worry.

woodwaj · 15/09/2014 17:06

That does sound like a worry. Was everything ok in the end?

I felt movement about 18-19 weeks, ExDP felt it just after 20 weeks.

JuniDD · 15/09/2014 20:14

DP could feel something from about 26 weeks but kept asking if it was me twitching my stomach muscles Hmm.

The baby tends to "grind" its heels against my side so he felt that properly at 34 weeks (at the weekend!)
