It really hurts now :(. Going to call in and insist on appt tomorrow and some antibiotics. Is the current NHS policy with these to try to let you get over it yourself??? She said there would be a call back if they found anything on the sample, but in the meantime things have progressed and I'm in no doubt at all what it is now, so they must have found something??!! Any tips in the meantime? Have cranberries, but it hurts enough now I doubt I'll sleep tonight. No point phoning OOH is there?

I'd be ringing the day unit now and asking for your results - I had to chase mine and it turned out I had a kidney infection. UTI's in pregnancy are serious, and cause premature labour; don't get fobbed off!

Definitely worth phoning OOH. Do it now!

Assuming they are in the same area, they should have access to the results and be able to give you the right antibiotics based on the sensitivities, or, if nothing has grown, be able to test your urine and prescribe a 'best guess'.

I always say to patients to call for their own results, even if I have said I'll call to speak to them, in case I forget/get run over by a bus/have the wrong number etc.

Thanks, I might phone and see what OOH say. Trying to get through to our surgery is almost impossible - you can be on hold for hours, and if you go in, they tell you to go away and phone. I did try on Friday but couldn't get through.

I was sent straight to hospital and had to stay in for a week when I had a UTI, because they trigger premature labour. I was not even aware I was ill, I had no pain when peeing or anything, I only checked in with the GP because I felt faint.

Do not hang around OP, get yourself to A&E. I hope it all works out well.

Forget the cranberry. It only helps prevent infection. Down two pints of water ASAP and it'll ease the pain. Keep drinking water. Do you have an NHS walkin centre close? They can give you antibiotics and can test then and there.

I have just had a similar experience but was waiting over 2 weeks- rang 111,who booked me and ooh appt within an hour x

Thanks all, have antibiotics! Drinking more water too and that has helped. The joys of pregnancy - I'm never ill normally!!!
