a little worried. could I be pregnant?

Firstly hello all. My first time on here.

I feel a little silly posting what might seem a silly question, especially as I am 40! So please bear with me....

I stupidly had unprotected sex during the middle of my last cycle. I am due on my period tomorrow. My cycles are fairly regular. I get pretty standard PMS. .....bloating/cramping a day or so before (not constant), huge cravings for LOTS of sweet food, very teary, acne. This time around I feel different....hard to describe, but I've had pretty constant cramping now for 2-3 days, still have a few spots, but feel just yuk! No Massive cravings for chocolate....A heavy depressed feeling, no energy, loose stools, peeing often and bloating. Also the occasional feeling of going hot and dizzy.

I'm probably worrying prematurely, but the constant cramps with no show of blood is weird for me over so many days.

Hopefully at my age the chance of pregnancy is slim to none! Just wondered what you guys thought?

There's only one way to find out Smile. I can't remember when the best time to test is, but I am pretty sure you will get an accurate result now.
There are lots of bugs going round at the moment anyway, it could well be a virus.

You need to POAS (pee on a stick).

If you've had unprotected sex in the middle of a cycle, then pregnancy is always a possible outcome.

You could be, but then again you might not be. You'll have to take a test to know if your period doesn't show. I'm not sure the exact odds of pregnancy at 40 but despite the scaremongering about poor fertility at that age it still does happen.

Grab a test and take it tomorrow, hopefully you'll be able to put your mind at ease.

Thank you for your replies. Yes I think if I don't start tomorrow I will take a test. Hopefully just some differing premenstrual symptoms from my norm!

Well, awoke this morning to the same dragging stomach cramps and upset stomach, but wiped and there was a little brown on the tissue so hoping it's on it's way....nothing since however. Do hope it would hurry up so the discomfort eases!! :(

Erm no not really. Strongly felt last night like it was coming so popped in a tampon to prevent messing my bed up. Hardly anything on it this morning (just brown at the tip) and nothing all day since. PMS pains have died down a lot. I'm actually a little worried but will do a test in the morning if nothing comes today.

Are you actually late for af? You can sometimes get a little blood with implantation bleeding, I had this with dd1 but it usually happens before your due

I'm only 1-2 days late so nothing too major there. Hopefully it's nothing and it'll come today sometime properly.

It's sounds very much like my implantation bleeding. It does seem like you are pregnant. You need to do a test.

I do have a test but have had a lot to drink today so I don't think it would be very effective would it?

Wait as long as you can from your last drink. At least two hours. Then it should be fine.

Unless you are the editor of the Daily Mail, 40 is not old at all to be pregnant. I got pregnant at 40 while on the pill!

Tiny bit more brown tonight but nothing significant. Will test first thing if nothing. I'm scared :(

Well, I've just done a test and it was negative so I guess I can rest easy now and wait for mother nature to do her thing! :-)

Well, awoke with period pains this morning and what I thought was the start of my period, but then its stopped again. God knows what's going on with my body as never had anything like this before. There's obviously something wrong other than pregnancy :(

Think my head is just all over the place. I feel so off and anxious. Definitely not myself. Still no sign of a proper AF. will retest in a few days if it hasn't hit full force, or make an appointment to see my GP. Thanks

I did wonder that myself Loveallmyboys :-/. But as much as my family is complete, I hope not yet!! I don't feel that 'old' yet lol. I've got a small smidge of bright blood tonight so I'm thinking AF is just building up to be a corker! :-/
