Normally I am regular as clockwork-28 day cycle. However, I am now 8 days late, cd 36... And pregnancy test still negative... With no sign of af. I had sore swollen breasts and cramping last week...all impending signs of period which failed to arrive. No symptoms of period or pregnancy now. Anyone had any experience of this?

Not a lot anyone on here can tell you I'm afraid. Plenty of people will report negative tests for a while that turns into positive. Plenty will report negatives that turn into late periods. Plenty have clockwork periods and then suddenly one month they ovulate late or period arrives late. Symptoms for pregnancy and period can be the same so that's out. Just have to wait a bit and see what happens. Sorry!

Patience my friend.

Thankyou. Better not have that birthday drink then... until I know for certain either way! I thought it would have shown up now on a hpt by now though :-(

Oh have a bloody drink. It won't do any harm and you will go mad if you put your life on hold!

With DC3 I was so focussed on TTC and symptom spotting that it must have stressed me as I missed two periods.

They just never came. I had a normal period after two months and then conceived the following month.

I went 40d without a period when ttc! Convinced myself I was preggers despite several negative tests- I wasn't! My GP said it could have been a blighted ovum but personally I think it was just wishful thinking! Got my BFP a few months later xxx

How old are you op? I have had instances where my period has skipped completely, (I am 41 & this has been happening for a couple of yrs) dr put it down to age as nothing else of concern happening.

WishingIWasLucky · 15/09/2014 11:19

38.... Maybe it's my age then... But I had sore boobs, and a till have lower back cramping...as though af is on its way...alas nothing....

Chemical pregnancy? I.e. Very early miscarriage/blighted ovum? I know someone who went through something v similar recently, felt all sorts of symptoms but hpts always negative, us scan normal (she had a lot of bloating and pain)... Gynaecologist thought most likely was a chemical pregnancy. Eventually she had a heavy period and is now back ttc, but was a strange month for her. I feel for you, it's not nice especially if you are trying. Hopefully your body gets on and does it's thing soon - or those hpts flip their results Smile

Hi, just read this thread, I was 3 weeks late for my period and did over 20 pregnancy tests before I got a positive one with my dd. I ended up going to the doctor and it was the test they did that came back positive (I don't think the ones they do are any different to the ones you can buy, I guess it was just timing)

Don't know if that's helpful in anyway!

WishingIWasLucky · 17/09/2014 08:51

Thanks daholster and peagle. Back to waiting....

....so period came on day 78?! Bloods had come back as normal prior to af? Pregnancy possible according to gp... Not convinced though!
