Cluster of back shooting pains?

Ok so I've had a new thing start up since the weekend - I get a cluster of shooting pains in my lower back. Get between 5-10 of them before it stops. I know I'm just being desperate again, but could this be a sign that labour is close by? I'm 40 weeks today.

Do they bring tears to your eyes and do you find you have them when lying down? I've been waking up with something similar for the past couple of weeks (now 38+2) and praying it's the onset of labour but no luck so far!

No, not tears to the eyes but they'd do make me freeze until they're over. I think they're mainly when upright for me - when either sitting or walking.
