Anyone had a gut feeling about an early baby and were right?

I am 33 weeks on Saturday. This is a DS and I have a DD who was three days late.

I have a real deep gut feeling that I will go into labour well in advance of week 40. Yet no real indicators. Baby is head down, bump is low. Nothing else. Never had Braxton Hicks or a show or any nesting etc with DD (I was convinced once I got to ky due date that sje would need evicting in a fortnight)

Yet something is making me really think this baby will be here by the end of this month.

Yes I did. I'd had a lletz procedure done and they'd cut a huge amount off the cervix. I had bleeding all the way through the 1st trimester and developed a vaginal prolapse in the 2nd trimester. I think the final straw was a uti. I kept saying I think I won't go full term (even though my first pregnancy was 9 days overdue!) and sure enough I was 5 weeks early.

I'm 35w and having the same feeling. Ds was born at 40w but I have a really niggling feeling that ds2 will come early. He's not engaged yet though so I suppose that should reassure me but it doesn't !!
Wouldn't mind him coming at 39 w but don't think I'll be organised before then!!

Nope, I had Dts at 30 weeks, lots of twins come early, so I should have really known, I was blissfully delusional that I would get to at least 36 weeks. It was a complete surprise to me when I actually went in to labour.

Since then I have know lots of people who think they would have an early baby, none of them have.

I'm guessing i'd just be a damp squib if I said I was convinced dc1 would come early n he was induced at 40+10. Felt same for dc2. He came at 40+6. I gave up after that. After 4 late dcs I realise mine will always be late and my gut feelings are shite! Having said which, i'd LOVE dc 5 to come a shade early!

Both dh and I had a feeling dc1 would be early. Nope, induced at 9 days overdue...this time round I'm lumbering into the 37th week and hoping she may at least not be overdue. Again, dh thinks she'll be early :)

I did. I kept saying through my pregnancy that I thought my baby would come early. Had a bleed at 24 weeks but then at 30+5 my waters spontaneously broke. I didn't have any contractions but after 3 days in the hospital circumstances meant they thought it was better to deliver him by emergency c-section. He was 31+1 and was in SCBU for 6 1/2 weeks. No idea why I had that feeling, it didn't make me prepare any further ahead (wish I had though!) but it turned out to be accurate!

No. Thought DS1 would be early when I went into latent labour at 38 weeks but he was 11 days late. I expected DS2 and DS3 to be late and they were. DS4 arrived at 35 weeks, giving me a huge shock and DS5 arrived at 37 weeks which was more of a surprise than it should have been.

MultipleMama · 05/09/2014 17:23

I had a gut feeling that mine where gunna be early (between 36-39 weeks) at my 12 week scan .

DS1 born 39 weeks.
DD1 born on due date.
DS2&3 born 37 weeks - later than expected (I thought they would be preemie).
DD2&DS4 born 31 weeks - earlier than expected.

I think this baby will be overdue though!

I had a feeling dd was going to be early from quite early on, I went in to labour at 37+5 Im so pleased she did come early I dont think I could have coped any longer!

Scoobsmam13 · 06/09/2014 08:41

I thought my first would be early as I was so huge, nope, 11 days late. This one I figured would be late too, until I had my due date confirmed as New Year and now I am convinced I will be early and in hospital over Christmas - boo!

BetweenDogandWolf · 06/09/2014 08:47

I was convinced DD would come early (big baby for my size, head down etc) and so was my midwife. She was born 1 day after my due date!
My gut feeling about her being a girl was right though!Grin

PenguinsIsSleepDeprived · 06/09/2014 12:47

I had a feeling with Dd2. she was 9 days late. Grin

TheGirlAtTheRockShow · 06/09/2014 13:26

Yup. Never thought she'd be 5 weeks early though! I thought full term, but before 40 weeks.
