Measuring bigger than it should be at early scan?!

We had an early scan on Saturday, as I didn't believe that very quickly after our last pregnancy ended very early that it could happen again.
The scan was good, saw the heartbeat and it wriggling around.
She measured it as 8+6 whereas I know it can only be 8+2 on that day.
I know exactly when my last period was and I know which day we dtd following it, I also know that the hospital did a test which was negative two days before we dtd.
I know it's only 4 days out, but I'm confused when I'm so sure on all my dates. Anyone else had this?

Yeah both times I was moved on 4-5 days. Don't worry about it there's no science on when baby will come anyway so doesn't make much difference. We all ovulate at different times and some times it'll take the fertilised egg a little longer/quicker to cling onto the side. They are only measuring the skull with a wave of a mouse it can't be that precise.

Oh and both times I could tell them exactly when I DTD as well

Babies in utero grow at different rates, just like babies outside the womb do. They are measuring something less than 2cm long at your stage of pregnancy and a 0.1mm difference in measurements can mean being put forward or back. I got put forward in my last pregnancy by 5 days - I know exactly when I conceived and joked if I did conceive him ny their dates it was an immaculate conception!

I'm measuring 5 days ahead of my dates, baby is just big!

Also bear in mind that dating isnt accurate before 10w, so will probably move by a few days at your actual 12week scan.

The sonographer was suprised that my measurements at 9w1d (giving a edd of 16th feb) were still giving exactly the same edd at my 12week scan (making me 12w1d). She said normally i changes by a few days (and it did in my first pregnancy after an early scan at 8w)

Even knowing all of those factors, you can't know when fertilisation and implantation of the egg occur and these can vary from person to person and from pregnancy to pregnancy. Being a few days out isn't really anything to worry about at all. Congratulations on your Bfp
