Spina bifida/Premature birth

I was wondering if anyone has any experience or insights with my worries.

I'm curious because seeing as i'm still waiting for my first appointment to see the midwife, I can't put my mind to rest.

My OH was born 11 weeks premature, he's asthmatic, suffers with dietary issues, has quite severe eczema and a few other issues - my MIL has spina bifida, has to carry an epi pen wherever she goes because she has random severe allegic reactions, to the point of hospitalization (and they still can't pinpoint what causes these). My OH older brother was also premature but only by a couple weeks.

I myself have a debilitating bowel disorder, still undefined but i always just say IBS.

Is my baby a high risk for any of the above?

I don't know the wander to your question, but make sure you're taking frolic acid. If there is spins Nicosia in the family I'd pop and see your GP to see if it's worth taking a higher dose (I know one quizzed me about it in early pregnancy and said some people need to take higher doses). Your GP will be happy to advise you :)

Otherwise, try not to worry, but again maybe mention your history to a GP as they might want to refer you to a consultant.
