Have I just had a show?

I'm 37+2 and as I stood up about ten minutes ago I felt something come out of down there. I went to the toilet to see what was happening expecting a normal amount of discharge or perhaps a little bit of wee escaping. My knickers were really damp with a sticky mucus like substance, wasn't pink or anything. I've cleaned up and changed my knickers and will wait to see if it happens again. Is it likely to have been a show? or just extra discharge? Baby has been head down engaged for weeks now and midwife examined me a little while ago due to having some cramping and said she could feel baby's head on my cervix so an early delivery is not entirely unexpected.

Shall I bother my midwife or just see how things progress?

I had a lot of discharge in the last couple of weeks. Wait and see what happens next, you might get some pains. Always ring if you're concerned though, no point worrying.

I've had quite a bit of discharge this past few weeks also. I think the mucus plug is really think and slightly blood tinged. So could be just increased discharge.

Yes a show is usually bloody/pink rather than a heavy mucus. You'll soon know!
