Signs of going into labour?

For the past couple of days I've had sharp stabbing like pains down below and having a lot of belly ache and runs. I've had a lot of acid reflux and it's been feeling like I've needed a poo a lot, when I go to the toilet nothin happens and it feels like I'm constipated and having a lot of pressure in my bum too. I've been feeling drained a lot and tired, one minute I'm tired, next I'm full off energy. Does this sound like the start to labour?

Could be signs of things getting ready!

Heatherbell1978 · 12/08/2014 19:35

Some of that sounds familiar and I'm 39+4. Not had any signs really until today and I have that same pressure in the bum feeling and a dull ache low down. Yesterday I was buzzing around the flat cleaning everything, today I can barely lift myself off the sofa. I have a mw appt tomorrow where I'm getting a sweep so I'm interested to see if she thinks labour is imminent.....I hope so!

BeccaBrkr7 · 12/08/2014 20:56

I've had all the same symptoms as you too! I'm 38+3 and saw my midwife today! She said it doesn't sound like I'll make it to next week! Baby's head is very low down and I've had strong braxton hicks, cramps, loose bowel movements, major acid reflux, pressure and shooting pains down below!! I've also been very tired, emotional and have developed headaches so wondering if it's a hormone change, gearing up for labour!! Been bouncing on my ball and walking up and down the stairs side ways, two steps at a time!!

Redling · 12/08/2014 20:58

Sounds like me at 39+4. Hope it means very soon rather than in the next couple of weeks!

Poshsausage · 12/08/2014 21:05

Feel exactly the same !! 38+5 !
Sharp pains were monitored yesterday and they were teeny contractions or things starting up anyway and I could barely feel them except for a sharp stab now and again

Feels like he is going to fall out or waters pop any second ! Back pain also as I think he is laying ony nerves now

Come on babies !!

Redling · 13/08/2014 00:08

Lying in bed and it feels as if he is trying to burrow his head right down, it's making me catch my breath! Hope he can do it hard enough to break waters or kick off my cervix!

mammabear4 · 13/08/2014 05:28

Feeling exactly the same here guys! 40+3 so really things should be moving along - my pelvis is unbelievably stiff and I've had shooting pains in cervix, loose bowels, horrendous mood swings and sleepless nights (5.30am been awake since 2 :( )

First baby so no frame of reference - really excited to meet him/her so hope these could all be positive signs of something happening!

laurajane89 · 13/08/2014 05:38

All sounds promising

mammabear4 · 15/08/2014 06:44

Any news anyone on this thread?? Still getting the same symptoms but no sign as of yet! Is anyone trying any natural methods to try to bring on labour? I have an aroma diffuser with clary sage oil, been going on the longest walks I can manage every day and when at home I've been bouncing on my ball constantly - all to no avail so far!

Heatherbell1978 · 15/08/2014 07:55

Nothing for me....due date today and if anything I feel better than I did earlier in the week! Mw couldn't do a sweep on Wednesday as cervix isn't open enough...so resigned myself to a bit of a wait. Did a lot of walking and ball bouncing yesterday so same again today.....sigh

BeccaBrkr7 · 15/08/2014 07:58

8 days left and I'm almost convinced I'm every night I'm going into labour and then nothing happens!! Anyone else having a lot of pressure, back cramps and tummy cramps??

mammabear4 · 15/08/2014 08:51

Yes and lots of movement from baby!! I don't know if the cramps are just constipation though :(

PenguinsHatchedAnEgg · 15/08/2014 09:03

Sorry to say it, but I have felt this all three times at this stage, and gone well over all three times.

Poshsausage · 15/08/2014 09:32

Stuff all :-(

weebairn · 15/08/2014 09:42

I had a week of similar symptoms at around 38-39 weeks with the last pregnancy, then nothing at all for a week until my waters broke very dramatically all over the floor at 40+4...

weebairn · 15/08/2014 09:43

Baby born 40+5.
