Am 27wk pg with DC2 and its movements are so WEIRD!!

With DS I didn't feel any kicks til about 25wks and they very quickly became definite kicks, nudges etc and I could sort of feel limbs moving around towards the end.

This time I've been feeling movements since about 18wks and for the longest time they were mostly the odd flutterings, taps and stirrings.

Now though, it still mostly feels like he or she is just churning around in there. I get lots of shuddering, and shaking and it often feels like massive whole-stomach gurgling. This morning in the early hours I was lying on my side and it was like WTF is it doing in there?? It's like having a washing machine in there almost!! No discernable kicks or anything, just lots of...movement..!

Am sure it's all within the realms of normality, and am sure its all linked to baby's position, position of pacenta, fact that am 10kg heavier this pregancy... But has anyone else had very different movements in different pregnancies? And also, just WHAT ARE THEY DOING IN THERE EXACTLY??!!

I think it's got ants in its pants already :)

I'd like to know too. 33 weeks and the movement over the last week in particular has been incredible. Absolutely constant too - last night I had to get boyf to put his hand on my belly for more than a few minutes, just so he could feel how insane it seems. Properly getting booted in the ribs (which is good, because for ages it's been breech), but massive kicks so can almost see feet poking out, then it moves right round again and it's the same booting movements right at the bottom of the bump.

I've felt sick because of it since about Friday. I had periods of time like this earlier in the pregnancy too. Hopefully mine will get too big to move around in a confined space soon.

Ha ha, yeah I get a lot of weird movements too - especially around the 32-35 week point. Now at 37 weeks things have calmed down a bit, but I remember a couple of weeks ago staring at my belly and just thinking, what on earth is going on in there?!

AnotherStitchInTime · 12/08/2014 09:12

My first was like that. Used to swim round and round. I felt like a washing machine.

Mine feels like this although I have nothing to compare it to as it's DC1. I'm 26 weeks and have been told I have an anterior placenta which I think might contribute as it cushions any movement to the front? I don't feel any sharp kicks just thumps and sometimes my whole belly shudders... It definitely feels like a washing machine!! Perhaps I'll call it Bosch. Or Zanussi.

Mine likes to stretch out what I can only assume is one leg and on arm in opposite directions; I get these really odd pointy bulges at opposite sides of my tummy at the same time. And when I roll over at night, it wakes up and turns through 360 with lots of little scrabbling movements, then takes ages to get settled again. Hilarious.

Or Hotpoint maybe? Grin

Ds used to feel like he was gripping my hip bones from inside and trying to move them! It was a most strange feeling. He kicked me so hard once, it really hurt! Everyone else seemed to have such gentle babies! He was freakishly strong after birth too.

With dd near the end, it felt like she was head down, very engaged, but was trying to get her head back out to turn on to her other side! It was very uncomfortable and made me cry. I was in a state enough about the upcoming birth. It all went well though.

Loveallmyboys · 12/08/2014 10:24

I'm 22 weeks and this baby is kicking my ass... Literally! Feels so weird!

WhatWouldCaitlinDo · 12/08/2014 13:58

Ah yes, the old "gentle nudge in the cervix" move. Lovely.

I had pasta for lunch so there will be a baby disco in about 4 minutes.

Perhaps I'll call it Bosch. Or Zanussi.

Adds names to the 'potential' list.

I quite like the sound of Miele for a girl and Ariston for a boy. I draw the line at Smeg though.

Loveallmyboys · 12/08/2014 17:44

Little baby smeg! Haha.

Redling · 12/08/2014 18:17

I used to get a feeling like the baby was pawing and stroking the top of my bump from inside, it was cute! Some nights though it felt like he was doing star jumps, so many simultaneous nudges all over the bump! Now he's engaged but does like to push his bum really high up on my left side, practically up to my ribs. He's basically run out of room big will he come out? Will he hell.

frankiebuns · 12/08/2014 20:27

I'm 38 weeks today and for the last few days I've had nothing but what I can only describe as the funky chicken! Really weird!
