Can't wee but pressure is so sore!

I feel like I badly need to wee but can only get a tiny bit out at a time. Every time I do go now it feels like the baby was almost being held up by my bladder and then a massive weight drops into the bottom of my bump as soon as I have gone. Is this normal or sign of a uti or something else? My tummy generally feels a bit tender.
Thanks!

I'm 24 weeks and seeing the midwife on Monday but not sure whether to call her before then?

That sounds like a urine infection to me.

Pee issues can be a sign of a UTI though it also is just like that for some women in pregnancy, annoyingly. I would deffo mention it to the MW, she can do a pee test and a swab and give you antibiotics if needed.

Thanks waffle. Is it dangerous for the baby? Should I get it checked out before Monday?

Get checked for a UTI asap as the retention of urine can cause one.

I had a similar problem due to huge fibroids.

Nothing will be dangerous for the baby. Might be worth thinking about before Monday if you have ANY discomfort. Ie catch early.

Thanks everyone. Might just give the midwife a quick call tomorrow (no idea if they will answer on a weekend but will try!) and see what she thinks.

Do call. It only takes a few minutes with a stick. The sample could be tested anywhere.

There is another more unusual cause which can happen if you have a retroverted uterus - everything gets squashed, making it hard for you to wee. But if you want to go all the time, it sounds like a uti. The dipstick test does not pick up everything, so you might want them to send a way a sample for testing. This happened to me and I had an e coli infection that was easily treated by penicillin. They like to get it treated quickly so it doesn't spread to the kidneys and cause you extra discomfort.
Best of luck for getting it sorted.
