25 weeks and feel like I have no energy - help!

Hi, I am 25 weeks gone and am looking after a very active 3 year old DD. We have just moved house, so we are still sorting out things and unpacking etc.

The problem is that I am even struggling doing the most simple housework. The whip round I used to be able to do pre-pregnency seems impossible now and the house never feels clean. To be able to do a bit and then drop off, pick up DD from nursery, or look after her at home seems all I can do. DH often has to cook, as I sometimes feel unwell in evenings. I cannot bend over much with belly and feel exhausted climbing the stairs. I am used to being active, so am finding this most frustrating. Is this normal?

yes u r definatly not alone in this I was the same at about 25 weeks hopefully if your like me in the next few weeks you should start feeling a bit better.... however u do seem like uve got an awful lot to do even if you weren't pregnant I think u wud be tired....... just try to set urself little targets each day ie one day I tidy my kitchen nxt day the bathroom etc don't try to do it all at once of be overwhelmed with what needs doing

it is frustrating as I was very active before I got pregnant however see it as a small time thing for instance im 24 years old ......9 months isn't a very long time in my lifetime wont be forever

Sorry you're not feeling great.

Just wanted to add that I felt particularly tired around that time with my first and as I didn't know any different thought it was just 'normal'. Turns out I was slightly anaemic and a bit of iron gave me an energy boost! Might be worth mentioning to your MW? She might be able to prescribe some supplements if it's something simple like that?

Thanks for your tips - will try and set myself little goals each day as I feel overwhelmed with everything at the moment.

Interesting about being anaemic - I might look into that. I don't remember being like this last time but then I did not have a 3 year old!! The physicality involved with DD is draining.

Definately get an iron test. I felt really drained from 18-28weeks, i thought it was normal because it was my first pregnancy. Turns out i was anaemic, so they put me on iron tablets and a week later i was full of energy.
