Morning
Just wondered if anyone had any miracle cures for hay fever?!?
I'm about 7 weeks and didn't sleep a wink last night due to all the sneezing it's driving me mad!
Fingers crossed I don't fall asleep at my desk today!!

I use local honey once a day. It helps a bit. Also sickness bands are great for when I get headaches. I've heard aromatherapy etc can be good but I know there are mixed views on if it's safe or not. I'm seeing my midwife tomorrow so planning on asking her. Maybe if you've got a midwife they may have some suggestions? X

loratidine is ok in pregnancy as are some nasal sprays

Can I take hay fever medicine during pregnancy?

I found all the non-medicated remedies (local honey, vaseline up the nose) to have absolutely no effect whatsoever.

Some of the normal hayfever medicines are generally thought to be totally fine in pregnancy, especially the medicated nasal sprays, as the active ingredient stays in the nose and doesn't get absorbed into the bloodstream.

And of course, its always best to check with your own GP before taking anything! But if your quality of life is really being affected, there are things you can do.
For me personally, the GP said that Beconase spray was absolutely fine, and I don't take anywhere near the full dose, just the odd spray on particularly bad days has been enough to get me through.

Good luck

Thanks guys! I've tried the nose sprays, hay max (expensive version of Vaseline on the nostrils!) and have even bought an air purifier but it's still keeps me awake all night even when I use all 3 together!!
Think I might need to head back to the docs as am just shattered.
Fingers crossed hay fever season ends soon x
