I have a 2.5yr old DC1 and have had a MMC earlier this yr during which I had no real symptoms. Now pregnant again (yay) but I feel
So so Ill, nothing like I was with DC1.

I feel nausea 24hrs a day, aware of it now constantly unless asleep altho still wake up and feel it. Not been sick (kind of want to be?!) but heaving and gagging frequently. Constant head ache. My stomach actually hurts from the nausea. Eating helps sort of but I don't want to eat anything as feel so awful.

Been in bed a lot but how on earth do you cope? I know it could be worse as there hypermesis but seriously don't know how can cope like this. I work part time and have my daughter the other days but I can't face anything I just feel so so weak.

So far I've tried ginger, vit b (40mg), magnesium supps, acupressure point, dry carb heavy food, cold drinks, nevasic (music app). Does anyone have any other ideas as I really need them :-(

Feeling v low and fed up that I might be like this for another 6wks or even longer!!

up the vitamin B6 a lot - 40mgs made no difference to me - you can have way more than that safely - I take 250mgs a day and that helped a lot.
Go to doctor and get cyclizine prescription.

I feel your pain.

I've managed to keep sickness under control this last week but today is hideous. not kept a thing down.

ilovechops · 02/08/2014 18:20

Thank you, just been to the chemist and bought some more B6 so will start that straight away. Actually have so me cyclizine from pre pregnancy as suffered from nausea before unrelated to pregnancy. I am scared to take it but may well resort to doing so!

Have you tried anti nausea travel bands? I have some and a few others recommend them too, seem to help a bit with the nausea so I can actually face food a bit more. I have it 24/7 too and do not want food, but hungry. I have found eating every two hours minimum is helping, even though I don't want to, variety of things so I don't get fed up of things, bread sticks, cracker, biscuit, satsuma, and just starting to be able to eat some veg again (7+4 weeks) making sure I force myself to eat so I don't get too hungry doses em to help, not that the nausea goes though, my guts seem to actually hurt so I can sympathise with you.
I hope upstart to feel better soon

Horrible isn't it

I had dc3 17 weeks ago and was horribly sick with her, worse than my other 2

Was eventually put on cyclizine which really helped. I was nervous about taking meds but dd is fine

Thanks guys, as awful as it is I know so many people have it (and a lot have it worse) so just trying to get through each day! Actually this morning I feel ok. I did but some sea bands yesterday and wore to bed (hope that's safe?!) plus took 50mg B6 before bed and I think it's helped as this morning feeling pretty ok and managed to have toast and tea which is major improvement.

rainbow I know what you mean about guys hurting, mine hurt so much last night. Worst time for me seems to be from 6-midnight ish when I just feel awful but agree even tho I don't want it,
eating every 2hrs definitely helps. I am going to have put on a stone by 2nd trimester but what can you do! Last night I had some pasta at 8 and then forgot to eat and at 11pm felt terrible so there's definitely something in snacking!!

Just wanted to send support your way! I felt the same for about six months of my pregnancy. I didn't find a solution at all, I went off food completely! I knew I had to eat to prevent nausea getting worse so I had a few foods I could manage that didn't make me feel worse (green apples, oranges, marmite). But nothing actually made me feel better. Except sleeping!

I ended up taking three months off work and I took cyclizine from week 16, though not every day.

noor265 · 03/08/2014 17:29

I felt the worst I have ever felt at 6 weeks! 6-10 are definitely the baddies. The only thing that made me feel better (and I tried everything) was frozen pizza or burgers. You did say you have already tried dry carby food, but honestly I dont think I could have gotten up and gone to work because I was throwing up everything else. I know it feels bad to eat so much junk, but the sickness should pass after a few weeks. At 6 weeks I couldnt even look at a piece of fruit.

Imsoontobemummyto2 · 05/08/2014 11:08

it is totally fine to take cyclizine - see

Hallo, newby here. I'm five weeks down the line (found out I was pregnant at 2 weeks after a very vivid dream that I gave birth and was breastfeeding which made me buy a pregnancy test - lo and behold...). A complete surprise but very happy about it. I'm already feeling extremely nauseous though which worries me as from the look of some of these posts, some of you have had to take a considerable amount of time off work which is def not an option for me. If I'm feeling nauseous now at 5 weeks is it likely to get a lot worse? I;d be grateful for any guidance, complete novice and just wading my through the hundreds of websites etc to figure out what I should and shouldn't be doing. Confused

ilovechops · 05/08/2014 14:05

Hi jasmin congrats on your pregnancy!

What's your job if you don't mind me asking? I haven't told my work yet altho plan to this week as it will help get me out of meetings etc when needed because I feel like I'm going to vomit!!

In my personal experience the nausea gets worse around 7-8 wks for me then tails off from 10 wks but tiredness sticks till around 12-14 wks then I felt loads loads better. Currently I'm taking B6 x 25mg 3 times a day and it's helped a lot but I'm still nauseus every now and then especially late arvo and eve and I can't seem to relieve that. I can still eat tho and that's the main thing (for baby). I also am finding this pregnancy much worse, I had my DD almost 3 yrs ago which was mostly a breeze apart from nausea weeks 7-9 but never bad enough to miss work, then a MMC earlier this yr at 7 wks where I had no pregnancy signs at all and now I'm coming up 7 wks with strong nausea at times, food aversions, headaches and exhaustion. Hopefully it won't last long!!
