I am 32+5, with my second. And I absolutely stink of breast milk!!
My 2 year old - I bf til 18 months and she seems to remember - keeps coming up to me and smelling me and nuzzling me!
My mum today said 'u smell a bit funny, kind of sweet but thick' which did make me laugh. It is a very heady scent. It is pouring out of my sweat glands!!
It's not unpleasant per say... But it's not what u want really!!!
Anyone else or any advice! I'm showering at least twice a day and can never wear a bra/top more then one day but it just keeps coming! In this heat I don't want to go out!!

No advice but I'm the same. Small babies are constantly pulling at me, DD is forever trying to undress me and I soaked through a tshirt in tesco the other day and looked like I had the worlds worst boob sweat.

My boob seem to be a bit excited about breastfeeding again Grin

What's pouring out if your glands? Breast milk? Really confused??

allduffedup · 26/07/2014 20:42

I'm the same (35w here). Have only leaked a very small amount at night, but even when its not leaking I can smell it. I thought it was weird when I heard that babies can smell your breastmilk, but now I totally understand!

lozmatoz no! the scent. I've never been a smelly person but the scent is so strong! A friend gave birth last week and I can't cuddle him cos he cries and nuzzles me :(

I have leaked a bit aswell, only when I wear a certain t shirt though so I'm avoiding it! Glad I'm not alone

I had that in pregnancy with DD2 (my toddler w
as very clingy when that started) I was constantly washing / reaching for the antiperspirant. Honestly even at a few weeks in this heat a cotton bra gives off a teeny bit of that scent with number 3 and I do have a huggy DD1 & DD2. It's been years (DD2 is 6). I guess it's a memory of comfort thing?
On the scent I have only noticed on a cotton (absorbent maybe) bra. But your body is ramping up in immanent readiness.

This is hilarious!

I could have and was going to start a thread like this!
Im 35weeks and I stink of breast milk! Ds2 keeps asking for a drink and he was last breastfed at3months and hes1 lol

LittleMissRayofHope · 27/07/2014 09:51

Agree with the memory of comfort definitely. My dd loved breast feeding. She still loves skin to skin contact. Especially my chest. She just nuzzles and nuzzles now and gets a dreamy look. Like she's high off the scent!
I'm wearing sleep bras (crop top style) a lot currently as my ribs have expanded but too early to be measured for bf bras so they are just soft cotton so maybe they are sort of exacerbating the scent?!?
It's not unpleasant. I'm a little pleased if I'm totally honest.
I breast fed dd and I was so so lucky really. She was a 15 minute feeder and she never lost weight. My milk was platinum grade and had a scary fast let down!! She started and came off a few times and it was like a flood!!
So it's reassuring in a way, could be wrong but I'm hopeful it's a sign of good things to come!

Come to think of it... my toddler has been super clingy and snuggly lately. And I think I might stink of it too. Just couldn't put my finger on it... I just thought It was some kind of funky pregnancy smell!

ilovemonstersInc · 27/07/2014 15:06

Ds has been trying to bite me all day lol

jaykay34 · 27/07/2014 20:24

This has been such a reassuring thread !
I'm 32 weeks and although I'm not leaking...I also stink of breast milk.
I swear I'm also sweating the stench of it out of my pores !!
