My first period after falling pregnant still came, it was fairly light and only lasted a couple of days. Just over 3 weeks later, at aprox. 8pm last night I went for a wee and there was fresh red blood. There were no clots, but it has scared the life out of me. No blood since, except a few dots, and no cramps. Got to wait until Monday to see gp :( can anyone enlighten me?

It sounds positive to me, very short lived and nothing since. If you were actively miscarrying you would have pain. I appreciate it's an horrendous wait until you get the all clear. Good luck. X

Both my little 'darlings' bleed a bit around 8 weeks. They are now taller than me! Good luck

Thanks ladies, feel a bit better now. I did ring the hospital but they said it was too soon for them to deal with me?

My EPU (at King's College Hospital) IS open on Saturdays mornings but isn't advertised as such as you need a referral from A&E to attend rather than just turning up. It might be worth investigating if this is the case with yours?

This happened to me at around 8 weeks too. I bled on Friday, and by the time I got to the hospital EPU was closed, so I waited until Monday - no further bleeding, and all was well. I was advised to go to A&E, and they could refer to EPU, but I'm sure your GP can too. I think the A&E visit just ruled out any ectopic pregnancy or infection that would need speedy treatment. Good luck, take it easy and hope all is well.

I would get a scan for peace of mind.

However I had 2 bleeds like this (after 3 miscarriages where the bleeding was far, far heavier) during this pregnancy: like literally when I went to the toilet, some red blood, then all gone. I am now 33 weeks.

Good luck- hope you get a reassuring scan.
