What to do about work - working from home due to preg issues??

Hi all,
I was hoping for some advice: I've been working from home for the last few weeks due to sporadic heavy bleeds (thought to be due to bicornuate uterus issues) and am now 13 wks.
Recent scan showed another dark area which will probably mean a bleed at some point, but don't know when - it could be days/weeks/months/ or even not at all if it gets absorbed. The last bleed was 3 weeks ago.
The problem is the unknown with work. I don't want to experience this while in the office and an hour's commute from home as it can be very heavy, but my boss is starting to ask when i'm coming back - even though i can do 95% of my job at home, they are funny with people home working for long periods. I've been signed off medically up to now, but realistically can I keep doing this?
Has anyone else had anything similar or have any advice? Last consultant was quite vague and didn't advise either way; just what felt right to me, but I do have another appointment in about 4 weeks...the unknown of it all is driving me mad!

I would explain exactly what you've written here to gp and they're likely to give you a fit note with the stipulation you work from home. You're not likely to be on top form at work with the worry you could bleed at any time anyway.

You've been working from home whilst signed off? Why?!

Hi Mag - thanks for the advice. In some cases, people can have bleeding on & off throughout pregnancy so I could theoretically be working at home for months. I just feel a bit of a fraud as I'm ok at the moment and feeling a bit stressed about work asking when I'm coming back. Wish I had a crystal ball...
Mrsgembles - sorry, I miswrote that: I've been signed to work from home under the fitness for work form, not signed off completely.

Ahhhh. Well if that continues your work can't penalise you for it!

"When are you coming back to work?" Answer: "When the doctors say I can, but till then I'll do my best to work from home so they don't have to sign me off completely."

PS add that you would rather be fit and healthy and in work than working from home while worrying about your pregnancy/when your next bleed will be.
