Foot muffs / cosy toes

Hiya, first time mum to be here!
I have brought the uppa baby vista travel system which comes with a maxi cosy car seat, my little girl is due end of September so prepping for cold.
Do I need a separate foot muff thing for the car seat and the carry cot newborn pram part (the bit that looks like a Moses basket but for your pram) or are they pretty universal?

I always used a blanket if using the car seat with the pushchair frame as a cosy toes would have to come off when baby goes in the car or he/she will overheat.
In terms of the carrycot, I usually make it up more as a bed. I believe the vista comes with wind resistant cover to go over the top as well.
