How to date my pregnancy?

So. It would appear I'm pregnant with DC3.4 (we joke that we currently have 2.4, as we have DSS 40% of the time).

It is a bit of a surprise as (a) my periods haven't come back after DS, who still BFs at 15 months, (b) we were using condoms and (c) I've had no pregnancy symptoms and (d) I've just given away all my baby stuff. I just had an intuitive feeling I might be on Friday, bought a cheap pack of tests on Saturday, all positive. We are a bit anxious as life is already a bit chaotic, money is a bit tight (little bit in debt), and both DH and I have a mad year ahead professionally. It also seems highly unfair that I have got pregnant by accident when using precautions when two of my close friends are desperately trying for babies after awful pregnancy losses, and I am very conscious there may be people reading this who desperately yearn to conceive (I have been there). But we figure it has happened for a reason, so we need to plan how we are going to sort ourselves out and make it work. I suppose there is also a chance it will not materialise, as I had two miscarriages between DD and DS, so as much as we're worried about how we'll cope, we're also a bit concerned about possible loss too. Mostly I think I am in a state of shock!

Anyway, given my periods never returned after DS, how the heck do I know how many weeks I am? I figure not many (no bump beyond my usual flab, no kicks etc) but what should I do? What will my doctor or midwife do- would they send my for a scan straight away do you think? Any advice much appreciated.

I think you need to ring the midwife, and talk her through whats happened.
A midwife / GP would be able to palpate your uterus if over about 12 weeks. Can you feel anything??

Any slip ups with condoms etc which could have been the cause? That might help date.

Thanks

Thanks addicted. I'll self-refer to the midwives and see what they suggest.

Nope, absolutely bi accidents that we noticed -DH has been joking it must be the second coming! It is a bit if a mystery. I kept thinking the tests were wrong... so I did all six! It may have been from our half term holiday in May, simply bevUse we were

No, I don't think I can't feel anything, though I am now being paranoid about every gurgle and twinge.
