Baby weight at birth

I am 37+3 and had a scan today to check how she's lying (she's finally turned which is fab!) anyway the sonographer and midwife both said separately that they'd expect the baby to be about 7lb something when born, based on an estimated weight if 6lb 3oz today. Do you think this is accurate? I hope so, but giving that I've got about 3 weeks to go (at least- this is my first do expecting to go over!) then I thought she'd end up weighing more.

What do you reckon?

If the current reading is accurate I would expect her to be about 7 lb 80z to 8 lbs if she arrives on EDD or after.

Those estimates are very unreliable. Just see what happens. Smile

I had a scan a week before dd was born they said she was 7lb 9 and she was born 7lb 3 so not a mile out but I know people who have had growth scans and they were way out.

My Ds was estimated at 6lbs 10oz at a 36week scan, he arrived 5 days after his due date at 7lb 2 oz rather than the 9lbs they thought.

Someone i know was being monitored because the baby was measuring large. They expected it to be a 10lber because the measurements were off the scale. She had a csection just after her due date and bubs was 7lb13.
