Forewaters Gone and Serious Clotting

33+6 and been sat in the hospital since about 9pm last night after a sudden gush of pale, cloudy bleeding.
Midwives and Doctors suspect it was my forewaters and at about 4:30 I suffered around a half pint of pure blood and was passing massive clots.

Baby seems happy judging by the trace and I have been contracting on and off since I arrived but cervix remaining closed.

Bleeding has stopped for now so for the time being, and emergency section is off the cards unless I suffer another large bleed.

Anyone else faced this?
I am absolutely terrified. No enjoying the steroids injections and having to stay in again tonight for observation.

What do you think the chances are of labour kicking off at this point.
As usual, the doctors are being very selective with what they tell me ( I suppose to cover their own backs)
At the end of my rope here with worry.

Have they given you the drip yet to try stop you contracting or is it just watchful waiting at the mo? I had contractions and a bit of blood at 32 weeks. Couple of days in hospital whilst they tried a few different drugs to stop me going into labour properly. I was told the last thing they try is a v expensive drip drug that works a lot of the time.

Didn't work for me Grin but it was all fine. I also got very little information - I think because there's not a lot of info they can give. Everyone is different in the end. At one point I was told that baby was likely to arrive in the next few days but they were still only able to give me an hours notice that we were going down for a c-section.

The steroid injections were one of the worse bits. I've never had such a painful injection before or since!

Only post baby bleeding here bit sorry you are having a scary time - at least if the baby does come it's a good age, past 32 wks you're unlikely to have long term problems related to prem. can you corner a midwife for a more detailed chat or send your birthing partner off to find one? You could also try posting in the childbirth section in case you get more responses there

Seems my contractions have settled themselves for the time being so this canula in sort of useless and very nippy ( nice fat grey one )

Been told to wait and see what happens so I think they are stummped too to be honnest.
Sad

Hope nothing else happens, fingers crossed for you for an uneventful night.

Feeling for you. You must be so worried. Try to look at the positives. If your baby is born soon he/she is very likely to cope very well with being born early. Also, you are in the right place to be kept a close eye on and cared for and for intervention if necessary. I don't think anyone can give you any good indication as to what will happen next. I guess it could vary from having another bleed soon which warrants an emergency section (in which case you will be well looked after, 25% of births are by C/S now) to the bleeding and contractions completely settling and then waiting for induction nearer to term as the waters have gone. I guess you will be in hospital until baby is born. I imagine none of these scenarios are what you would have chosen and are out of your control to a large extent.

Thanks for the input ladies. Still no further contractions or bleeding and baby sounds happy. No evidence of abruption either so doctors are very happy.
Looks like, if all stays quiet, it will be homeward bound tomorrow and assigned to bed rest until our little trouble maker decides to make ab appearance.
Looks like it was just "one of those things"

I'm not sure im confident with that answer but om confident with our progress.
Can't wait for the morning x
