36+4 - have been woken up in the early hours by painful contractions for about the last four nights - toss, turn, eventually get back to sleep, and in the morning NOTHING.
Last night was out at something and got painful contractions that actually seemed to be fairly regular, to the extent we decided to leave early and start the two hour drive home just in case - walking back to the car felt a sort of 'clunk' and suddenly felt like I had a bowling ball in my pelvis and had to waddle - assumed that was the baby dropping. Contractions continued and intensified, but then about an hour into the trip seemed to be getting further apart, and by the time we got home they were just tightenings with little cramps like mild period pains, so went to bed. Woken up AGAIN with proper pain at about 4am, had three in a row, about ten minutes apart, then fell asleep and woke up again to NOTHING. And the bowling ball feeling has gone. Sad

This is driving me insane! And I assume could go on for weeks?!

(The ridiculous thing is we have a wedding to go to on Saturday and I have an exam next week, so don't really want him to come early - it's just horrible to keep getting all excited for nothing!) Grrr!

Anybody else getting this?

It's so frustrating isn't it? I was getting these from 36+6 (as I thought I'd be going into labour before 37 weeks so wouldn't get my planned home birth) and had DD at 40+3 Hmm

Good luck, hopefully you won't be waiting too much longer!
