When to worry about cramping pain?

So I've mentioned on here before that I've been having cramps but they seem to be getting worse/more prolonged.
How bad do they have to be before I should start to worry?

They come and go in waves, but feel like extremely bad period pains (the sort of pp that feel like a contraction) and they are always worse on the evening/at night, I'm
Not doubled over but it is distracting. Sometimes one side then another and sometimes just general. It's not excruciating but last night it woke me up.

It also feels like extreme trapped wine Blush

I've had no bleeding btw. Should I be worried?

Does your hospital have a foetal medicine unit you can go to? Do you yet have a midwife's number to ring? If not, the I suggest you go to A and E.

I hope all goes well.

Your uterus and all the ligaments around it are stretching which is probably what the pain is. You can also be incredibly bloated and gassy in the first trimester so I wonder if it's a combination of both of those things. I think everyone gets pain in different severities, I feel it A LOT in the early weeks, I'm 6 weeks too and the same as you, I was with my first aswell. It's the first pregnancy symptom for me.

Is it worse at night because you're not moving around or being distracted possibly? Have you had a booking in appointment yet? If so I'd ask to go to the early pregnancy unit to put your mind at rest but personally I think it sounds normal for how far along you are.

I think it might be a combination of both digestion and cramping, I'm not too worried but did wonder what's considered bad cramping as most websites/books are a bit vague on it.
It does get a bit better when I go to the toilet, gets worse after dinner (I've no appetite so haven't been eating as much at lunch/bfast) and also think sitting down all day in work is making it worse so when I come home it's stretching out a bit.
Also before I got pregnant I has mild arthritis in my hips which has eased in recent months so I suppose with the stretching etc it could aggravate that.

I just hadn't considered that my womb would be doing this much growing this early on.

If it gets any worse I'll go to the EPU.

I was at the doc last week btw but it was only occasional at the time (a bit like ovulation pain) so never mentioned it. I haven't been to the midwife yet, hopefully that'll be soon and I'll mention it then

It definitely sounds like a combination of a growing uterus and bloating/wind then. I know, it's surprising how early it starts! I found with a lot of things that doctors and medical websites minimise the aches and pains.

Keep an eye on it but it sounds normal! Congratulations btw!
