TMI but how wet should you get?!

Morning all!

So...a tad gross but throughout my pregnancy I have been getting damp spots near the front of my underwear. At times (usually when I wear a dress for some reason?) my underwear is fairly damp to say the least!
I had a UTI earlier on, but apart from that doc/midwife not really any help. Is this just a normal stage of pg or should I be concerned that I may be leaking fluid?! Fluid levels were normal at a recent 22 week scan. Or could it be...gulp...urine or sweat?!!!

It will be discharge, completely normal. Don't worry I doubt it's any other kind of fluid.

Pantyliners! And lots of them. Problem solved Smile

smellyfishead · 26/06/2014 20:32

I have the same problemBlushpantyliners are the answer, not a lot you can do!

Missvaughan85 · 26/06/2014 21:26

This time of year and with the weather as it is. I'm saying sweat. I've now taken to using panty liners and using talc. Joys of a summer pregnancy

Buffy81 · 26/06/2014 21:37

I sometime have that problem. Tends to be when I was at work so I was always getting up to go to the loo as I felt that I had wet myself as I could get rather hot in the office or if I was walking around

Stargirl7 · 27/06/2014 12:30

Thanks all...it's just such an embarrassing problem to discuss with anyone else!
Seems to be worse wearing dress and when I've been sat down, or if I need the loo! I'm going to go with a combination of above problems and invest in panty liners asap!

Now you mention it, mine's worse when I wear a dress too. How very odd!

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 27/06/2014 14:02

I had this throughout my last pregnancy and I always wore dresses! I wore liners and did a lot of pelvic floor exercises (there is a poster on here called something like gertiegusset who explained how to do them properly).

One day at 37 weeks though, I noticed it was a particularly soggy day...my waters broke with no other warning that night! So later in your pregnancy, do keep an eye on it as I realised in retrospect I'd been leaking amniotic fluid that day but had got so used to the discharge I didn't twig.

Zara8 · 27/06/2014 15:15

My discharge levels go through the roof during pregnancy! Pantyliners and possibly even sanitary towels are your answer, change as many times during the day as necessary to keep you dry (I am 24 weeks with DC2 and pantyliners are not quite cutting it anymore, just like last time).

If I wore just undies I would soak through to my clothes. No amniotic leaking for me, I'm just errr juicy Blush

GingerScouse · 27/06/2014 18:48

Yep, another one who is spending more on bodyform when pg than before!

I could also soak through to clothes if unprotected.
