What are you wearing in the heat?

I am hot and fed up :-( I need to buy a few summery bits to last me through the next 3 months. Will be in the South of France in August at 32-34 weeks so there is no avoiding the heat.

I have some linen drawstring shorts (non maternity) from Next but they aren't fit to be seen out of the house in. I can't do maxi dresses or strappy or strapless tops.

What are you all wearing to be summery and cool?

Gave up on style when the morning sickness from Hell brought me to my knees. Now it's a case of - it's clean, it's comfy, it'll do. Initially I spent a small fortune in M&S buying bigger of everything, now it's Primark finest in jumbo sizes (can I just say - Primark actually does some really decent stuff!). It's not as though you'll need to wear it all again any time soon (well...)

Next harem pants (there are a short version and a long version, I'm in the short version).
Tunics - non maternity ones, mostly from Fat Face and White Stuff, since they are the ones I had before that still fit.
A couple of strappy empire line dresses - wide straps though (also pre pregnancy non maternity, but jersey and baggy).

Those are the harem pants - cropped, and you can sort of hook them up to your knees. They are ACE.. go up over your bump (I'm still in the right size, although I've bought one pair in a bigger size for later on), or under the bump if you're comfy with that. I've even dressed them up with a jacket for work. Even though I'm basically wearing pajamas, it looks like I'm not.

35 + 2 here and I just refuse to wear trousers or leggins anymore. Dresses are bliss so until DC2 makes his appearance I am alternating between:

old maternity / nursing dress from jojomaman
Old Monsoon dress (non-maternity but surprisingly stretchy!)
new maternity / nursing dress from jojo again

Dresses and loose floaty skirts with vest tops here. Today I added a big floppy hat for portable shade.

I was pregnant last summer and survived I maternity dresses from eBay and maternity linen trousers from Next. Full length so I didn't have to shave my legs every day. Also had some tube skirts from H&M maternity and ASOS which we're comfy.

Jojo's maternity nursing dresses are reasonable price & good investment as you can wear them to feed in and they're long lasting.

Got the maxi one altered so it's not too long. No reason not to wear maxis and shorter ones great too.

Mainly in linen maternity trousers from Jojo at the moment. Also have a very comfy maxi dress from Gap maternity.

Empire dresses with stretchy middles.

I live in the south of France. I invested in a couple of these soft jersey skirts from Seraphine:

They were not cheap but I wear them everyday (so cost per wear not too bad!) and find them very comfy and versatile.

Am 37 weeks and living in maxi dresses and blouses. also sit around the house in bra and knickers

Hmm. As I feared...... lots of maxi dresses there. I just can't do maxi dresses whether I am pregnant or not. They just look awful on me. Liking the Seraphine skirts and non leg shaving linen trousers......

I tried those Harem pants on in Next and thought they would be the answer to my prayers until I saw my backside in them
I think part of my problem is that I usually suit things that are fitted at the waist so I don't have a bank of pre- pregnancy empire lines and tunics to fall back on.
Those that size up in Primark etc rather than buying maternity which kind of styles do you go for? I seem to find the seams are all in the wrong place and they are too short in the body

£8 maxi skirts from boo hoo, primark vest tops and kimono top things. Best thing I've found so far to keep cool in. I'm only 17 weeks and I'm roasting!

Linen trousers tied under bump with large primark vest, maxi dress (primark) and any dresses/tunics that still stretch with/without leggings depending how long they are. Thats when out...when home normally little shorts and a vest top rolled up over bump!!!

I'm 32 wks and although not huge, I'm definitely getting that way.....like you I can't wear maxi dresses, mainly cos of my height. They've always added pounds to me, even pre-pregnancy. Like another poster said, Primark is great. Not somewhere I shopped pre-pregnancy but I've found some great light blouses and baggy 'harem' type pants which do the job and I'll probably chuck later.

I'm in the med too and its roasting here. I'm living in harem pants and asos vests and although I'm only 5ft3 I'm wearing the odd maxi dress as I'm not keen on any maternity shorts or skirts I also have a skater dress from asos which I love but I save for going out. I actually swim quite a bit so I'm in swimwear a lot of the time with normal sized playsuits over the top (size 14) but I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to get away with that for!

I have some maternity leggings of both cropped and longer length, plus a pair of cropped maternity jeans and then 'tunic' type tops and t-shirts (mostly Primark and Matalan) to go over the top. Because the fashion is loose and long, I've found buying oversize doesn't look odd though a few are specific Maternity.
For smarter - plain black/white loose tops and Harem pants. Fraid to say, one-size-fits-all off the market!! cheap but they go under the bump, are vastly stretchy and can be worn with a plain tunic and ballet pumps and some accessories to look work/restaurant appropriate. Also google "Purpless" they have been a godsend: basically cheap/cheerful plain coloured maternity tops and shorter dresses for summer. Nothing over £20, light jersey.
I found all bras, even maternity, uncomfortable in the heat so am wearing cropped/sports/sleep style bras a lot.

I am 17wks have 2 skirts that still fit with zips slightly undone n long vest tops have brought few maternity bits but not worn yet don't want to buy too much specific winter or summer stuff as such little wear last time I was pregnant baby was Aug baby n got til May before needing mat wear n was really hot summer so all summer stuff jojo n pumpkin patch skirts. Loose dresses that were not maternity but had a while so could stretch them n then get rid.

I find supermarket vest tops long so buy next sz up n they are then great to reuse for sleeping in when do my night nanny work as wear vest top n joggers as up n down all night in someone else's house.

I bought a couple of stretchy tube skirts in big sizes, one from H&M and one from Primark, and a few fitted vests from Tesco and am finding them good. None of it is maternity, so hoping it will come in handy afterwards too. Altho I can sew so will be able to take it in (if I manage to lose any of the baby weight that is.....).

Pants and a T-Shirt. That's it.

Asos have the best selection, and free returns, and a good sale on at the mo, so I ordered loads of stuff and sent back the stuff that was no good.

Dresses from asos and seraphine, or maternity cropped leggings from ebay leggings hq i think, and tunic tops. If there is an asian shop near you then id recommend shalwar kameez in cotton. Thats the long tunic top over pyjama pants.

Cotton or Rayon, mostly! And dresses and shorts, I try to avoid wearing my tops except maybe my nursing bra as I constantly carry ds4 in his sling, and we get hot and sweaty so easily that he sticks to me, so I've learned to just wear my nursing bra and now being pregnant again, even those materials are making me warm! Haha.
