20 week scan in an hour

I've been posting here probably too much recently so sorry for being annoying....but my 20 week scan is at 2:30 and I'm suddenly in melt down mode.. Terrified that something will be wrong. But that's normal feelings, right?

It's normal! try to calm your thoughts by thinking of something else - whatever relaxing visualisation comes to mind. I was very anxious in pregnancy but resolutely banished the thoughts when they popped up. Anxiety can become a habit, and you have to practise controlling it, for your own sake. The chances are, overwhelmingly, that your pregnancy is progressing well. My DD is now 20mo and perfect. Enjoy seeing your little one

Thanks! Managed to distract myself for the last hour by watching made in chelsea... Wish they hadn't let me leave so early from work!! Oh dear I feel sick...deep breaths!

I know, I was always just desperate for the heartbeat, at every MW appt. Deep breaths are good. Is this your first? can you feel him or her move?

Oh, are you going to find out the gender today if poss?

Yeah it's my first...had a miscarriage last year but first viable. I think I can feel movement but always worried its just gas!

Oops and at 3:30 that should have read...my DP would kill me if I was sat on MN in the waiting room!

Anxiety utterly understandable after your miscarriage

Trying to remember when I felt reliable movement with DD, probably after the 20 week scan. I bet what you think is gas is flutters though.

Good luck! You'll be fine though, I was extremely nervous before every scan with each one of my babies (I've had three DCs). It's perfectly normal, but also lovely to see your baby on the screen. He or she will have grown lots since your 12 week scan .
