So had baby measures today and he is measuring just above the average line for his head and abdomen, but his femur is just under the average line. Should I be worried?

Imconcerned because the other two head and abdomen are sisimilar but the femur looks too short :( I mean all measurements are in the greyed out "normal" range so I should calm down.

However I googled short femur large head and people are saying it's a marker for downs and other genetic issues, but in retrospect their babies seem to be measuring weeks behind on their femurs.

Someone please calm me down :(

DS on scan had a big belly and head and short femurs. He is fine, just has short legs, like me. The poor boy!

My baby is measuring the same but all checks show a healthy baby boy who just has the same proportions as his dad =)

Thanks ladies,

Im trying to figure out if maybe baby has just taken after me too, I'm 5ft 3 short legs but dad is 6ft 3 and long legged so maybe he's just got my legs.

These babies don't half make you worry!!!

Mine was the same a couple of weeks ago. My baby was a week behind on femurs and a few days ahead on its head. Don't google (though I did the exact same) - I spent hours working out the ratio and looking at charts that I knew nothing about. Long story short, next scan, everything was on track and the doctor was oblivious to my panic. It's not an exact science, especially not if it's a couple of days either side. Plus, they would probably have mentioned if they'd seen something they were worried about.

All this is easy to say two weeks after, but try not to worry!

If they had concerns, they would have said. Step away from google, and don't worry yourself Smile
