Hi everyone!
We got our BFP on Monday after 2.5 years of ttc!
We were over the moon but also a little worried.
Thing is I haven't had any sickness, I'm not really any more tired than usual and the only thing that seems different is that I'm really really hungry all the time!!!
I'm just so worried, it took us so long to conceive and I don't "feel" pregnant! We don't have our first midwife appointment until 1st July and I just feel a bit of a fraud! What if we get there and there's no baby at all!!
Does anyone else feel like this?!

Yep. It's very common. Enjoy it! You might find the tiredness and nausea get you soon enough.

Notfastjustfurious · 12/06/2014 13:28

Congratulations on your bfp! Don't worry everyone feels like this to begin with and it's usually fine. Tired, sick and all that joy kicks in in a couple of weeks so enjoy the normal while it lasts. Also don't expect too much of your first appt, the midwife won't do anything to check your pregnancy at that stage it's all questions and form filling. Good luck Smile

Thanks both! I know it sounds really weird but I want to feel sick or something just so I know that things are happening! I'm sure I'll regret saying that if and when it does happen! I daren't let myself get too excited just in case!

I started feeling ill at 7 weeks....

VegasCupcpake6 · 12/06/2014 13:54

Oooh ok so maybe it's just a bit early yet!

Definitely early to be feeling anything! Try not to worry and enjoy the knowledge while you're feeling well. You may shortly be feeling so rough you want to skip ahead several weeks! Alternatively, you could also have few or no symptoms right up until you start to grow. If you know your body well though, you'll probably start to notice little changes in a couple of weeks or so Smile

Congratulations! I'm 25 weeks with my second and still feel like a fraud. Sometimes I'm only reminded I'm pregnant when I feel a kick.

Not everyone has the same symptoms and there's plenty if time for them to kick in. The best thing you can do now is try and relax and look after yourself. Worrying doesn't do you or the baby any good.

I was the same when we found out at 5wks still don't feel pregnant. Also found out we are having identical triplets 3wks ago!! Feeling great so it is possible to have no or little symptoms.

PenguinsHatchedAnEgg · 12/06/2014 16:49

I've never had morning sickness, but I've got three children and each time the 'feeling shit' bit of the first trimester hasn't kicked in until 6-7 weeks. You might just be lucky, or it might all be about to hit you.... Grin

ohthegoats · 12/06/2014 16:51

Lucky you! I have friends who had no symptoms at all, all the way through, and others who were practically write-offs all the way through. Everything is individual, and no lack of, or amount of, symptoms seems to make a difference in whether something will go wrong in the future, or whether it will all go swimmingly. It's all a bit random.

Which doesn't help with worrying, but I think that's just a part of being pregnant. You have small windows of non worry, but that's kind of it!!

JustGotMyBabyOnBoardBadge · 12/06/2014 17:02

Give it a couple of weeks!! I am sure something will kick in by then :) I didn't get sick until 8-9 weeks and then it was uncontrollable until 17 weeks...congratulations!!!

When I was 6 weeks pg I could have written the same thing. I had to have week 7 off work with a "tummy bug". Week 8 I was hospitalised with hyperemisis.

perrinelli · 12/06/2014 19:25

Hi vegas I got my bfp the same day as you! My main symptom is also hunger at the moment and I remember this with my other two. Try not to fret!

VegasCupcpake6 · 12/06/2014 19:40

Thank you all so much. You're all helping to reassure me!! And congratulations to all of you too! I'm so glad you all know what I mean!

I was fine until week 6. At which point I entered what I can only describe as sheer hell. This has lasted until now, week 33. Do not wish sickness on yourself. 24/7 extreme nausea for 6 months is beyond anything I have ever known. I also have heart palipitations, fainting, breathlessness, headaches, yeast infections every week, broken veins, pelvic pain and on and on. I feel as though a bus ran me over. I literally can not wait for baby to be out. Congrats on your pregnancy! And I hope you have an easy one :-) xxx

Ummmmgogo · 12/06/2014 20:11

I had the same problem, if you can call it that lol! Now 9 weeks and feeling like it's all in my head. What helped me was paying for a private scan. When i saw the little heart beating on the monitor I felt a lot more pregnant. I would recommend it if you can afford it because your first nhs scan won't be until you are 12 weeks and it's a long time to wait! Congratulations xxx
