Hi Ladies, gents

I don't like using fluoride so bought a toothpaste from waitrose that is fennel. It tastes great and I like it but then I started to wonder if fennel was ok during pregnancy? I looked on the net and found some things that say its not safe and now im worried.

Do the NHS have fennel on the banned list. Hint, I very very much doubt it. Stay off Google.
Secondly, do you eat tubes of toothpaste or just brush your teeth with it???!!

The banned herb lists on the internet are incredibly unreliable, most usually put together by self-declared 'experts' trying to sell something or garner (frightened) followers.
In the UK, there aren't any culinary herbs which are banned.
Some herbs if used in medical quantities or as extracts can slightly increase some problems. Unless you went and bought strong tablets of these from a health shop and took loads (or ate several kilos of a herb in one sitting!), you would not be at risk.

Safe to eat = safe to swoosh your mouth out with in toothpaste and rinse away! :)
