Had a bleed today at 17+5. Started out the blue and stopped quite quickly. Went to a&e on midwives advice. They were very thorough and did a scan, but couldn't find a cause for it. I'm pleased that baby looks ok and there's nothing obviously wrong, but can't help feeling uneasy at not knowing the cause.
Anyone else have this? X

I've had two bleeds with clots but no reason on the scan. They were at 14 and 18 weeks (I'm now 20+4). On the scan the baby has been fine and the sonographer has searched for causes with nothing found. My midwife thinks it will be my cervix being "vascular" although we hadn't had sex either time but the second time I did have a random tickly cough and was coughing for an hour or so before the bleed so maybe it was that? Don't worry if baby is fine just concentrate on that, that's what I am trying to do! X

My cervix bleeds at the drop of a hat- I only know from smears etc' in the past! Had a bleed myself this pg, nothing on the scan but they suggested it was 'cervical erosion' - harmless (the structure of the cervix is intact), like a nosebleed or grazed skin. Could be that?

Thanks ladies.
Leopard I've had a cough too, had wondered about that.
I know I should just be pleased.. I just don't want to spend the next 20+weeks being scared every time I wipe on the loo! X
