In March this year I went through an ectopic and it was one of the hardest thing I have ever had to do and have been terrified about becoming pregnant again. I have just found out I am 4 weeks pregnant which of course I am totally over the moon about but it is a bittersweet as I am totally loosing my mind over the terror of another ectopic. Has anyone been through something similar? Thank you for any help. x

Hiya, yep went through the same myself. Had an ectopic which ruptured on my honeymoon (!) so scary emergency surgery which really traumatised me. Took years to be able to try again but happy to say that I now have a 3 week old DS! I was very anxious when I found out I was pregnant but this time was very aware of the signs of an ectopic (last time put pains etc down to the stress of the wedding) and GP, hospital all gave excellent care. I had early scans at 5,7 and 8 weeks. At the 5 week scan, they checked my remaining tube as well as uterus and were pretty sure they could see the embryo in the right place, tricky as it's so small at that stage. They confirmed at the next scan and to be honest, it took me to the 20 week scan to relax about it all. I just took each scan as another hurdle cleared - all seems in the distant past when I look at my beautiful little boy. Have you seen your GP yet? Make sure they know of your history and you'll be booked in for an early scan. Hope all goes well and that you take some solace in my story :) x

Thanks so much for replying and congratulations on your DS , that's amazing! You're story is very much a comfort and I am going to book in to see my GP on Monday and try and get a 5 week scan, here's hoping it all works out this time x x

Yes, ectopic, miscarriage and missed miscarriage with ERPC then completely normal healthy glowing pregnancy and beautiful DS! I was terrified too and had no real hope or faith in my body but then it all just worked perfectly! Early scan is a must, insist on it if it isn't offered but I'm sure it will be given history. Will you let us know? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Be brave and take one day at a time.
