scared im having a chemical pregnancy

I had iui two weeks ago. I was meant to test tomorrow (saturday). I couldnt wait so tested yesterday (thursday). I tested mid afternoon with a pregnancy test that detects 25 iu/ml. I got a faint but very easy to see positive line. Today however after going to the bathroom i noticed some pink discharged when i wiped. This was a couple of hours ago and there has been nothing since. My period is meant to start tomorrow. I'm so scared this means my period is about to start. Is this a chemical pregnancy? I had one about 18 months ago and this is our first time trying again. I haven't told dh yet. Just sat in bedroom scared.

Firstly, chemical pregnancies don't show on home pg tests. People think they're being merciful by calling them chemical, but it's actually just confusing. Positive = egg has implanted for at least 48hr. You're pregnant. :)

Interested that your HPT claims to pick up at 25. I have had to trace my urine down after a molar and not even oncology depts in hospitals have ones that reliably go down below 35/40. So you may have more hcg in your blood/urine than you think!

It is quite common to have a little spotting/blood the day your period is due - it can be the blood that was created from implantation or some women just spot. If it gets no heavier/fades away, test again in a couple of days for reassurance, but it's very likely you're pregnant. :)

I had some very light spotting a couple of days before my period was due, along with my normal pre-menstrual symptoms and no 'pregnancy symptoms' (previously each month I was convinced I had morning sickness and an enhanced sense of smell, only to come on my period!) so thought it wasn't my month.Tested two days later and got BFP (and spent the next few weeks days- spent a fortune but DH doesn't know the extent of my addiction)

Squizita I got a positive on a clear blue digital when my blood hcg was 12 - the same day. So they are incredibly sensitive. Op it's hard to say whether it will be a successful pregnancy or not but fingers crossed it will be.

thank you for replying. I haven't had any more blood loss so I'm hoping that means everything is ok. Will buy another pregnant test and test again just to check.

That sounds hopeful! Many women have a bit of spotting/discharge and are fine - sounds like you're one. If you're worried ring your GP. :)
