Smart summer maternity clothes for works - anyone got good links?

I am really struggling to find maternity clothes suitable for work.
I don't want anything figure hugging, as I'd rather I was seen as professional at work than draw any attention to my bump.
Ideally clothes would be quite cool - as I work in London and commute on tube. All the dresses I've found are too short or clevage revealing. The tops are generally too casual. I've found a few tops (asos, H&M) and a dress (H&M), and I've got some good black trousers (New look) but I need more to get me through the warmer days. At the moment I'm rotating 4 work outfits!! Only two I actually like out of those! I'm wearing a red top and I hate red on me - I look awful in it, but only because it's comfortable and smart.

I'm in the same situation and have really struggled. I've kind of given up on being as smart as usual.

One thing I have found works is cheap jersey dresses (that I would not normally consider work wear) smartened up with a blazer ( non-maternity).

Have you tried red herring or next? They have some nice smarter stuff

Try jojomamabebe they have some lovely dresses that would be good for work. Dorothy Perkins also have a couple of good summer dresses.

I second Jojomamanbebe

Black trousers and tunic tops in 'work suitable' plain fabrics/colours (not always maternity - sometimes larger sized normal ones) work for me. I work with teens so can't show cleavage, it's a bit obscene with the pregnancy increase now!

I also second getting a wrap style jersey dress (purpless do maternity ones cheaply in plain colours) and putting a suit jacket over the top. You can't do up the jacket but it gives the look of a skirt suit.

I am wearing jojomaman short sleeved wrap tops with a black stretchy knee length maternity pencil skirt from next finished with my normal black blazer for work. I invested in 4 Isabella Oliver mat dresses with my last preg which also work with a cardi or blazer, I can't recommend these enough. However I found the wrap style didn't work until I had quite a big bump. I agree that a Summer bump is more awkward to dress than a winter one!

This style of dress doesn't look v exciting but is amazing with a wide belt under the bust. I have it in black and I am tempted by the pink and blue. Looks smart for work with a suit jacket/cardi.

Thank you so much guys. I am definitely going to check out all of these recommendations.

Another thumbs up here for JojoMamanBebe wrap tops. I bought 2 at the beginning of my pregnancy as they were on offer and they're great (I'm now 27 wks). I'm a small size but have reasonable boobs so find I have to wear a vest top underneath to save having too much cleavage! But they're really smart and flattering and perfect for work. I also got a nice black dress/trousers/skirt from Topshop maternity which are good for work. You should try Gap too. I haven't bought anything but lots of smart stuff on the website. Good luck! It is difficult though!

I have a great pencil skirt from Jojo. The rest is from Seraphine. I work in the City and have gone for dresses which I find more breezy than trousers as they'll need to last me the whole summer. I picked up the odd dress from ASOS and Mamas and Papas. I actually find more fitted jersey dresses with higher necks to be smarter than baggy clothes.

redexpat · 17/05/2014 18:18

Seraphine. Twas what hrh wore. Dresses at the 50 quid mark. Other smart stuff. Ive been v disappointed by asos this time around, 3 years ago they eere great. I also got 4 lots of leggings on ebay from leggings hq. Could you couple leggings with a long tunic top? Even better can you get some shalwar kameeze? They can lok v v smart.

I wore Boden wrap dresses (normal, not maternity, as during pregnancy I seem to just redistribute the weight from various parts of my body onto my bump).
