terrified of 20 week scan anyone else?

Hi, I have my 20 week scan on thursday and im terrified. I had a bad experience with my 12 week scan, had a high nt result and came back as 1 in 75 risk for downs. I was offered an aninmo but refused as odds were higher for a miscarriage than a downs baby.
Having a baby with downs doesnt bother me but im worried about other more serious things that might be picked up because of a high nt measurement.

Any advise or experiences welcome please :-)

I barely slept the night before my 20 week scan! I was so scared they would find something wrong - but they didn't.
Its perfectly natural to worry about it. I don't believe the high nt measurement indicates anything other than downs risk, but I may be wrong - if you ring midwife they should be able to advised more about that.
If they do find anything they tell you same day, and you have a consultation with the doctor about it (at least that was what I was told when I went in for mine).
Fingers crossed they won't find anything!

saralou no experience but my 20 week scan is also on Thursday so happy to hold your hand. I know it's scary but I'm trying to focus on the positive that I get to see my baby again. And whatever news we get we will just have to face on the day. Worrying won't change the outcome. Easier said than done I know... :)

Yes saralou Honeybear is right, its hard but that's the thought I have been sticking with. My scan is the 14th and I'll be 20 +6 which is the latest you can leave it, finding very hard but keeping positive is the best way.

I have a printed 'hand out ' that my midwife gave me that had the dates written on and when to have appointments booked by. I have only really seen a few references to the 21st week thing so may vary.

If the hospital booked you in I wouldn't worry but always good to give them a call to check.

Hi guys, its good to know im not on my own being slightly terrified about it. What time on Thursday is your scan honeybear? Mines 3.20pm will u let me know how yours goes please?
Ellabella I wouldnt worry about not feeling much movement, I was also worried about that because a week ago bean was rugby tackling my insides but one day later nothing and nothing for four days after. But I read online u shouldnt be taking much notice until at least another three weeks have passed. Oh I dont look great either having a terrible time with my skin! :-(
