what to do with old mattresses?

A friend has given me a moses basket, crib, and cot complete with mattresses, the moses basket and crib ones are Sleepcurve so not cheap.

I'm going to replace them as per the guidance, so, I'll be left with 3 old mattresses to dispose of. I'm going to offer the cot one to another friend to use as a dog bed, but what can I do with the other two?

The environmentally friendly reduce, reuse, recycle part of me is loathe to just bin them, but I can't in good conscience offer them to another MTB or charity shop and I'm struggling to think of another use for them.

Any creative solutions? Would it be safe to use the moses basket one in the carrycot?

Is there a local dog place (charity/rehoming) that could make use of them?

We kept them as emergency spares, in case of, e.g., middle-of-the-night vomiting episodes. I also put them in the freezer for a good while to kill off bugs (not sure where the science is in this! I may have made it up....). The cot mattresses were useful as the children got a little bigger for camping, sleepovers in each other's rooms etc.

Offer them on Freecycle, being sure to mention they are used. Not everyone can afford to follow the guidelines so you might be able to help someone out.
