What are thoughts about vegetable hair dye in pregnancy?

I am 8 weeks 5 days and have an appointment for a vegetable dye tomorrow. I am thinking of not going - but wondered if anyone knew it to be a safe option?

The only risk with hair dye is that your scalp can become irritated. Even in 'chemical' dyes, if you use them in well ventilated areas most medics deem them safe.
