I've had an ectopic (kept my tubes), anyone tried ivf after this to reduce the risk of an ectopic?

I thought that ivf increased the risk of ectopic pregnancy, not reduced it?

Ivf does have higher risk of ectopic, quite apart from all the other disadvantages. Don't go there if you don't have to! Your chances of a repeat are higher after ectopic but still pretty low. I had an ectopic 7 years ago, also kept tubes. Have since had 3 dcs!

IVF increases the risk of ectopic, as others have said.

The reason some women have ivf after ectopic (or other complex loss) is if they've lost a tube or its become hard to conceive due to other factors. As others have said, it is risky and not a protection - plus you're more likely to conceive quicker by natural means (in most cases)!
Good luck. :)

I really wouldn't have, no. I had an ectopic last year, it was treated with meth injection, I kept both of my tubes. I successfully conceived naturally again 3 months later and am now 23 weeks with a little girl, so to me going through IVF would have been a complete waste of time and money and tbh I never even considered it. We stopped trying for a bit (but not preventing) afterwards, was actually living really unhealthily as just thought sod it, got plenty of time anyway (I'm only 22) and thats when it happened. Have to say I was terrified it was another ectopic at first though but it was confirmed soon enough that it wasn't.
