Argh - 41wks and piles! Anything I can do?

My bottom is just going to come out during the delivery, isn't it?

Is there anything I can do at this very late stage to minimise the consequences? I have one little lump that's just appeared this week. I remember the sensation from DC1 of pushing into my bottom and I dread to think what the piles will be like after that.

Feels a bit weird using cream down there so close to labour, is it safe? Anything else I can do? I'm a little constipated so working on tht but I didn't think it was too bad.

Thanks in advance

I'm only 18wks but suffering terribly too. They never went away from when ds was born nearly 4yrs ago Blush and have got much worse since being pregnant again.

I'm using anusol ointment and suppositories but it's making no difference. I'm embarrassed to go to the doc after leaving it so long.

I recommend sitting on ice packs for post birth.

Have never had piles before so I don't really know how bad they are, it's one lump hanging out and it's become quite sore and prickly this evening. I'll go the the pharmacy I guess in the morning but am totally dreading what will happen during the pushing stage! I know from going to the lo this evening that things are only going to get worse, not better :(

Ao will I've packs help them to shrink back? Is it worth trying that now in advance of labour ? Assuming I ever go into labour...

The ice packs just helped with the extra swelling and discomfort. the shrank pretty quickly after birth last time but never disappeared.

Also many women recommend lactolouse for the post birth poo as you don't want to strain at all. I wasn't constipated but that can make things much worse if you are.
